Quoted from eabundy:

I have 2 young kids and no time to chase pins down. Biting my tongue right now... Let me just say NOT COOL

What's not cool? Just asked if it was the game on CL listed a few days ago? I didn't imply any judgement on anybody.

Asking what he might have paid for the machine will probably affect what people think he'll take for the game. It can also imply that he's One Of Those People™ and unfairly harm his ability to sell games.

You appear to be genuinely oblivious to these implications, so live and learn I guess.

#2253 8 years ago

Hey, Bundy! I'll give you $500 for it!

But seriously, folks...if you have no interest in the machine, perhaps you should consider backing the f**k off and let these people conduct their business how they see fit. If you want to make money in this business like they do, why don't you put a little time into hunting down the machines, shopping them out, then selling them for a profit.

I've seen Eric's machines many times, and as I told him at Pintastic, they're always beautiful. And I can assure you that the $500 game he got is definitely worth what he's asking now, or he wouldn't be asking it. The guy knows his shit.

There are a few people on here who make a living (or a partial living) this way (yeah...I'm looking at YOU, Maryland!). We all have the opportunity to do the same thing. If you choose not to, perhaps it would be best to STFU about the people that do.

The part not cool is posting what you think someone paid for a machine, when they are selling it for more money than you think they paid. Not a leap to figure out what I didn't like about your post.

Jeez. I don't care either way. I really wanted to get that Cyclone on CL but I didn't. Its fine if it wasn't the one Eric is selling. Someone else posted the game earlier in this thread anyways, not like I poisoned the well. Sheesh.

#2256 8 years ago
Quoted from Richthofen:

Some people got upset that I asked if this was a game listed on CL for a specific dollar amount. Surprised this pissed anyone off since everyone's bought from a flipper in New England. Whatevs. Comment removed.

So you would've passed on a $500 cyclone?

#2257 8 years ago

Currently shopping out a Twilight Zone. Should be ready next week.

I saw the CL ad 8 minutes after it was placed. Was texting a friend about it who bought a Cyclone and had it shipped up a few years ago, had got him into the hobby. Tried to convince him to get it as I am out of room and it looked like it was in better shape than his. I mean, I'd love the game but I'm pretty much out of room and money. I didn't say there's anything wrong with it, I just thought for sure the ad was a fake as they almost always are, someone luring collectors into responding to fake CL ads for jollies or whatever.

Maybe the posters above misread you.

A lot gets lost in translation in text.

Who cares regardless?

If I saw a $500 cyclone, I'd nab it and resell it in a heartbeat. Most would.

I don't see a damn thing wrong with that either.

It was real I'm selling it for $1800

#2263 8 years ago

I'm not bothered either way. Sorry EABundy is offended, really am, but it seemed like a big rush to judgement over information that could have been gleaned by scrolling up a few posts? I've bought a game from Lorenzo and I know he's flipping games, no love lost there he's a great dude. I have talked to Eric a few years ago trying to get a STTNG but for whatever reason the game he had had problems or something (maybe cab water damage? not sure) and *he* was the one who said it probably wasn't a good game for what I was looking for. Also played EABundy's pinbot at Pintastic. No one doubts his integrity.

Heck, even I've sold a game for more than I've bought it for. Bought my first pin for $850 and did a complete teardown, LED upgrade, boardwork by Sarah at PinWiz, etc. Sold it a year and a half later for $1500. Nothing wrong with that, I added value, and brought it into the collector community, and played it a bunch. I just was shocked to see games still sell on CL for $500 if that was the case (and Eric indicated it wasn't) ; because 90% of those ads are fake and CL deals are REALLY hard to come by these days.

Herbert, doesn't your town of Ballston Spa NY already have someone famous for doing things like that already?

#2265 8 years ago

It's all good, no worries Richthofen

#2266 8 years ago

AMH is still available, I had some high offers, but a few buyers backed out.

Too much blah blah. When making comments in a sales thread, you either you have something specific and relevant to add or you don't. People do want to know if there's something wrong or shady about the machine or seller, based on direct personal experience. The rest is noise and actually interference if it queers the deal.

We're in a capitalist society (for now, though arguably more socialist every day). Nobody should have to defend their intention of turning a profit, whether they personally added material value or simply got there first.

#2268 8 years ago

Bundy is a pinball rock star! Got pictures of that Cyclone?

#2269 8 years ago

Ahh flipping, the thing everyone does (or aspires to do) but no one wants to talk about

#2270 8 years ago

That $500 Cyclone seemed potentially fishy to me / the fact that he would "only sell tomorrow between 12p-3p" made me wonder if the guy selling it even owned the machine (and whether that was even his residence). If someone here did in fact buy it, you may want to check the Bedford police logs.

Cyclone is sold pending pickup later this weekend.

Nice price. Not surprising it went so quickly, regardless of all the noise.

Quoted from jchiu:

He wanted $5200 for a used X-Men Pro. Seriously.

Mike D will work with a cash buyer, as competitive as any other dealer, you just have to know how to talk with him. Their sticker prices are not even close to the bottom line. I have had nothing but good experiences when dealing with Mike.

With that said, I would also deal without hesitation with Mike E, if he had something I wanted.

#2277 8 years ago

#2289 8 years ago

and now....back to the FOR SALE thread.....

#2290 8 years ago

Thanks Purple, I actually tried to talk to that guy, but he was Horrible to deal with.. The game was missing a target and had a plastic next to Kenny that was just solid blue, so I asked him if there were any other issues with the game, and he basically took my head off and told me it was a 3000 game.. I believe you should be NICE to potential customers, not take their head off for asking a very simple question before taking a 5 hour trip to go see it...

This is mine that I love!!!! so glad you found one. Felt bad because I had one but I am really not wanting to part with it. It was my first pinball too. I bought it and a Space Invaders as a deal and this one stayed here. Space Invaders I do from time to time miss!
