Hello NorCal pinheads... I wanted to see if anyone here is getting STLE?

I was in on it, but for a handful of reasons got out. I'm very interested to see/play the game in the near future.

    Thanks Kerry

    #771 10 years ago

Mike... Congrats on your new STLE (arriving soon). I would love to take you up on stopping by. Let me know when it arrives.

    Thanks Kerry

    Hello Pinheads & Arcade People...

I know this is a little "off topic" (not pinball related) but I wanted to reach out to you. I'm looking for an upright driving game (Cruis'n Exotica, World or USA / Rush / Off Road / Need for Speed etc). I don't have the space for the full sized sit-down version.

If you know of anyone looking to part with one... let me know.

    Thanks!

    I have the following games I'm looking to sell or trade;

    1990 Bally's Pool Sharks pinball
1990 Mousin Around pinball (maybe / on the fence with this one)
2004' Incredible Technologies Golden Tee 2K; in dedicated cabinet, 4-player golf game.

I'm interested in 90' Data East Simpsons pinball and upright (not cockpit / sit-down type I don't have the space) driving game, like Cruis'n Exotica, World or USA or Need for Speed (+/- cash) what ever is fair.

Located in Northern Calif (East Bay Area)

    #2385 9 years ago

Daddy-o ... I now have 2 Pool Sharks. So yes, I'll be moving / trading one for another 88-90' pinball. Really interested in 90' Simpsons.

Kerry, you put up your mousin around on c/l?
Dam! I don't have any money!
The game looks great. It should sell quickly.

MrGone... Yes that's my Mousin Around. I paid a premium for it. They don't come up often. I just posted it today and have had a ton of emails. I need space as I have (3) games coming soon (TH SE / MMr and AMH).

Looking forward to hooking up with everyone at PAGG in 4 short months

    Hello Pinsiders...

I have the need for a new or used DMD display for my Fish Tales. If used, it needs to be 100% working, with little to no burn.

I could buy brand new at MAD Amusements for $165, link here: http://mad-amusements.com/product.php?id_product=236 However, I just don't like his business practices with people getting ripped off (many Pinside posts regarding this).

If you have an extra new, or used DMD display you would like to sell... my Fish Tales will "Thank You"!

    Thanks.

Hi Nor Cal Pinheads, my name is Joey and i'm moving to East Bay, San Ramon, in late December. I wanted to say hello and ask where the good local places are to play and if there are any leagues open to new members in the area? Also I'm looking to make a few new friends and meet local pinball folks to hangout with. I'll be bringing 2 EMs with me from FLorida, FREEFALL and DIMENSION.

A little about me, I'm grew up in NJ and lived in NYC for a long time and ran an event called The Pinball Pub Crawl. I've been living in Florida for the last 10 years. I'm into live music and play bass and guitar. I have been into pinball since 1996. My first game was a beat to shit Space Shuttle that I fixed and did a playfield swap on. Next pin was Addams Family and then there was no stopping me from collecting pins. Along the way i have had a bunch of EMs and SS including MB, BSD, PIN-BOT, WW, Gorgar, JD, FT, TZ, SPOT-A-CARD, 2001. I really enjoy fixing up dead games as much as playing and have been doing EM house call repairs and cabinet restorations for other collectors. Once i get settle in SF one my first stops will be to the Pacific Pinball Museum and Phoenix Games. So thats it, Cheers and Happy Holidays

Welcome... There are a lot of great PinHeads here in the Bay Area.

Be sure to go to Pin-a-go-go & CA Extreme.

You're welcome to visit and play / talk pinball. Send me a PM. Maybe I can arrange a few locals to come too.

    Hello Pinsiders... I just wanted to share this story;

    Yesterday, I can’t believe I bought back a 1990 Funhouse, I purchased 23 years ago for $800.

Long story short; I’m a Real Estate Agent / Broker who sold a home in San Ramon, CA to Jeff & Cindy E. in 1994. As a “House Warming Present”, I purchased a Funhouse pinball game for them (only about 3-4 years old) for $800. I often give my clients pinball games for house warming presents.

I’ve been recently looking for a FH, and found one fairly locall (70 miles away). While talking to the owner (Mike), he has owned it for 10 years, I asked him the history. He said he got it from Jan E. in Minden Nevada.

I knew Jeff has a sister named Jan and because their last name is so unusual… I asked him about them; he said "Yes" she got it from her brother Jeff E about 15 years ago as a present.

WOW now full circle; It’s been HOU for the past 23 years and I pulled it off the route, at only 3-4 years old. I’m stoked to get it back, as I have already purchased a new playfield / new NOS plastics / new Translite / 5-decal set. The only thing left are to buy new ramps.

    #4723 6 years ago

dsuperbee... Congrats on your FH project.

Mine has to wait a bit, as I have 2 games torn down; Bad Cats & DINER. Diner is next. But can't wait for FH.

    arcadenerd925...

You can easily make a stable rotisserie out of threaded 1/2" metal pipe for less than $100. I built it and it works good. Mine is tied up with Bad Cats on it. There are several threads on pinside with materials needed.

Good luck on your PF swap on FH. I too have FH in the que to been done (PF / decals / new ramps / new translite).

I'm in Danville, not too far from you.

    #4799 6 years ago

I have a 93' ST-TNG & 90' Game Show for sale or trade (+/- cash, what ever is fair).

I'd consider newer titles like: Houdini / the Getaway HSII / Who Dunnit / Indiana Jones (Williams) / Indy-500 / Champion Pub

Or older system 11's: Bad Cats / Diner / Simpsons (DE) / Mousin Around / Whirlwind / Taxi / Funhouse

    Let me know.
    Thanks!

Hello Pinsiders... I'm throwing this out there, to any of those who are mechanically inclined...

I'd consider trading my full sized Chevrolet 2008 Suburban LTZ (top of the line), for pinball(s) (+/- cash), what ever is fair. This full sized Suburban can fit (2) pinball games inside,

It needs engine work, it runs rough. Here's the CL link I just placed: sfbay.craigslist.org link

Let me know what you got. I'm most interested in games from system 11 (1988) to current. I can add cash, for the right game.

    Thanks!

bsuperbee... Thanks for the "heads-up" indicating it's being held for review. I've never seen that on a CL post. Very strange indeed.

With that said: I've also never seen or been charged $5.00 for making a for sale post. This is the first time I've been charged. Maybe the "held for review" was for them to run my credit card ?

It appears the CL ad is up and running now.

    Tanks Again!

Hello Pinsiders... just an update, I sold this Suburban today.

    #6061 3 years ago
    Quoted from pinostalgia:

craigslist is on fire the past few months, good used vehicles get sold in hours...

My Suburban had 173,000 miles, engine ran very rough, my mechanic suggested it be replaced (~$4,000). I put the ad on CL for $4,995 with explanation of engine's condition and mileage.

I had no less than 60 emails, texts and calls, in about 4 hours. Some offers as low as $2,000 / $3,000 / $4,000 and some who said they'll pay $5,300 / $5,500 and one guy at $7,000. I sold it to the 2nd person who looked at it $5,000. I'm happy and he's happy (Win / Win)

    #6086 3 years ago

Wow... that's so sad. I actually called and emailed him in the past several days with no answers. I was just going to contact you Jim this afternoon, to see if you heard or know anything.

    Very sad indeed.

Larry's son Andrew, called me early this evening. He was returning calls left on the home voicemail and to people whose games were at their home.

Larry was an awesome guy who took a lot of pride in his work. I think he did it more for the hobby and challenge, than the money. He's done 2 playfield swaps and several deep shop jobs and 2 cabinet re-decals for me.

One PF swap was my Getaway HSII. He asked me what I was going to do with the old playfield. I said I didn't have plans for it. He asked if he could have it for his son (Andrew) for wall art... I said certainly. Tonight, Andrew said he has that PF on his wall and didn't know it came from me. I was tickled to hear that

All the best to their family, in these difficult times.

    Quoted from eb94114:

They will powder coat all hardware and ship it back for $200

Don't forget your cost to ship it to them... Armor is heavy & bulky to ship!

I've had 5-6 sets of armor done at MAAS Brothers in Livermore. They charge approx $150 set. Set being: 4 legs, glass lock-down bar, 2 side rails, 2 back-box hinges and about a dozen bolts. This is excluding coin door, I've not done any coin doors.

NOTE: They are temporarily closed due to Covid-19

    Kerry

    #6263 3 years ago

$400 over the phone? Are you including coin door? speaker panel? metal ramps? score-card arch?

All I know is: my 5-6 games were approx $150 each for what I had done. Those were in gloss black and a set in gloss red.

They also do the 2-tone textured finish. It's similar to the hammered look. What I really liked is their display wall. When you enter, they must have 200-300 aluminum soda cans all Powder Coated the colors and textures they can do. You can take the can(s) outside to get a sun light view.

But: they are temp closed bcuz of Covid-19

    Hello NorCal Pinheads...

Do you have a good source for powder coating the pinball metal armor: legs, lockbar, backbox hinge/plate, glass side rails, coin door, bolts etc.?

    Let me know.
    Thanks!

Funhouse is the first game I ever bought in 92'. That's what got me started in the crazy / amazing hobby. I still own FH.

    #6526 3 years ago
    Quoted from Markharris2000:

(And do you even remember what you paid for it? I don't remember exactly because it wasn't a big chunk of money back then. Maybe $1500?? I really don't remember, but it wasn't very much...)

I paid $1350 for it and that was a ton of $$$. In fact, it was the only Christmas present for my 3 boys (7 y/o and twins at 5). I've never spent that much $$$ on Christmas ever.

But I'm soooo glad I did

I was at The Flipper Room pinball swap / flea market as well, a couple weeks ago. Great Event and a Great Time for all.

I had a dozen old / original front glass marques out of slot machines, in my small flea market table booth, in the parking lot. I actually had made matching box frames and plywood backs for all of them, for putting lighting inside them.

I purchased them for the game room home we had in Lake Tahoe, however, we recently sold it. I had from about $35 to $50 in each of them. I had no offers

At the end of the event... I gave them all to Mike and Katie(sp?). They put on such a great event, I was happy to give back and I hope they can put their talents on them and sell them for some good $$$.

What's the deal with the seller in Oakland I keep seeing on CL? Always has photos on what looks to be a laminate floor, games barely played, new-ish Stern titles, that are always way over-priced? Been meaning to ask this for a while, figured you guys would know the story.

Correct... John Tennler out of Oakland. He goes by Pinball Picker. Whitey is out of Burlingame / San Mateo area

I have a Taito's ICE (Ice Cold Beer Arcade game), plus new side art not installed. I've owned for about 20+ years. It's an amazing game... but honestly, I'm more into pinball.

I'll throw this out for anyone who may be interested in contacting me... I'd consider trading my ICB, plus cash from me, for your Indiana Jones (Williams).

    Let me know.

    I'm in Danville too...

Like ThatOneDude, I'm always available to help a fellow Pinhead who's in need with a flat rubber. Got lots of rubbers (bulbs too) to offer, in a pinch, at no cost.

    #7326 2 years ago

    Throwing this out there...

I've been a collector since 92'. My/our first pinball is/was Funhouse (still have it). I currently own 2+dozen pins, and a few classic arcade games.

Recently, I've been temporarily trading games with PinBuddies, for 2-3 months or longer (EHOH / BSD / Dr Dude / Game Show / Diner)

I own about 10 system 11 pins and think I'd like to own a 90' Radical. If anyone here in Northern Calif (within an 1-2 hours of San Francisco) has a Radical and would be interested in a temporary trade (2-3 months), for something of mine... let me know.

That way, I could / would get a taste of that game and see if I'm really interested in purchasing one.

Let me know with a PM.
    Thanks!

If you find something in the East Bay Area (Pleasanton up North to Martinez), I'd be happy to help you evaluate the game, we can load it in my Suburban and I can help off load and set it up at your home. I'm good for 1 step or 2, however, no staircase for me (2 knee surgeries) .

Let me know if I can help.

    Hello Pinball Fans...

I'm interested in an Aerosmith premium, if you know anyone interested in selling.

I have several pins (BSD: Bram Stoker's Dracula / ST-TNG / TZ with RadCals & gloss black powder coated armor) I could/would consider trading for it (+/- cash either way for 1 or 2 pins from me).

Let me know with a call or PM
