Every time I see a Houdini posted, I am reminded how beautiful the machine looks. You do have every mod that matters on that bad boy. I had one for awhile, and kind of regret selling it due to space.

Oktoberfest Pins & Pints is back for 2023

All Pinball folks are welcome, we just ask that you RSVP ahead of time so we can plan on how much food we need to purchase. We will have plenty of Mexican food, street taco style, (Chicken, Pastor & Asada) which was a hit with prior Oktoberfest parties. We will have rice/beans/chips/salsa/dips etc. Come on over for a laid back day of playing pins, relaxing with other people who enjoy playing pinball and have a good beer or two. Good food, good beer and good pinball. The catch for the Oktoberfest event, as every year, will be to bring a 12-pack of some off the wall brand name beer for all to enjoy during the event and eat a bunch of free food.

The event will start October 7th at 2:00pm and last until ??? when you want to leave.

If you have any questions feel free to send me a message.

Hey everyone, I'm looking to sell a few games up in San Jose. I'm traveling this week, will put up listings or photos as needed later, but wanted to get this out there to see if there's any immediate interest. I'd like to sell sometime next week or the week after.

Very easy to come pick up - no stairs, just back in your vehicle and carry a few yards.

World Cup Soccer - colorDMD, LEDs, everything works great - $5500/obo

Phantom of the Opera - crazy good example of this game, unobtanium NOS playfield installed, cabinet in great shape, amazing backglass w/unscratched mask, Cliffys, many new parts, LEDs, Sparky TV mod showing Phantom movie, new glass - $5000/obo

The Avengers (LE) - loaded green Hulk limited edition, HUO, colorDMD, upgraded Teseract cube, acrylic Hulk topper, shaker motor, mirror blades, clear titan rubber and colored Cliffy posts, Captain America shield pop covers, LED speakers with Avengers mirrors, Loki moved to better position, lots of spotlights and lighting added - $6500/obo

Greetings from Sacramento. Looking to sell my TMNT Premium. It's not listed anywhere officially yet; I only just discovered this particular pinside thread.

    - Manufactured November 2022
    - NIB purchased by me from Pinball Pirate in Benicia, CA in early July (< 3 months ago) for $10K
    - HUO, ~225 games played
    - Shaker motor installed
    - Headphone adaptor kit installed

    $7,500 • negotiable

Game plays fine, still basically in new condition. It's just not holding my interest as much as I'd like, and I need to make room for other new pins. The only service it's needed has been reconnecting the van diverter assembly to its coil (loose from the factory), and the glider toy sheared off its peg during an airball so Pinball Pirate replaced it and even provided an additional spare I will include.

My game room is upstairs: it's one hallway to a large landing, a straight shot down one flight of stairs, and out the front door to the driveway. I can and will assist in moving it but I am only one dude.

Hey pinball people. I have a few games for sale and happy to make package deals. Out with the old in with the new. All listed on the marketplace, but here is the break down with lower prices. Open to trades as well. I will be listing next month an The Addams Family and Hurricane. I might be getting back my Houdini as the new owner doesn't like it. Happy to sell it at more discount.

Wheel of Fortune – Received from the original owner and looks in fantastic shape. $5,600

Fish Tales – Really nice example with little to no cabinet fade and original topper. I can add a ColorDMD/Voodoo glass for an additional charge. $6,400

Monster Bash (Limited Edition) – Received from the original owner and looks in fantastic shape. $10,800

Toy Story 4 (CE) – It is my friend’s game with under 200 games on it. He bought it new for the kids, but they don’t play it. $12,500

PSA for those in the south bay area, Lvl Up in Campbell is closed I just played there last week and visited again today to find the message posted at their front door. That's the only "real" pinball place in here, sad to see them go.

What about Miniboss in downtown San Jose? I haven’t had a chance to get there yet, but they have quite a few modern Sterns and 90s pins on their website.

I was in LvlUp three weeks ago (my only visit) and all the pins were disgustingly filthy. Looked like they took a dirty wet dishrag and slopped it over all the pinball glass. It was really gross, and kinda ruined the playing experience. I spent only a few bucks on pinball and left, because if that’s how they treat their most visible attractions, what’s the food and drink gonna be like? No thanks.

Yeah their pins are always dirty, but they're the only spot in the area where you can play newer machines. They keep rotating their sterns with new releases.

Miniboss is a more trendy place with bigger space and more machines.
But most of their machines are setup bad and maintained badly. They probably have pitch of 5 degree, so floaty. Some are not even level left to right. The machines are equally dirty, but it helps that the lighting is dark there.

Such a shame because they have all the top 90s machines. Their collection has never been updated since they opened, so nothing newer than TMNT.

I have a feeling they are not run by a pinhead and they are mostly frequented by casual players. It's a good place to play arcades and hangout. The good thing is that it's easy to get a highscore on the machines and they have freeplay Thursday.

That’s unfortunate. Hate to ever see local spots close shop. Wonder what happened.

    #8123 55 days ago

Unfortunately the south bay lacks good pinball place within close proximity. The next closest place would be in SF or Concord or Monterey which are all 1-1.5 hr drive.

Also, now I might have to expedite a few pin purchases because of them closing

Think Miniboss is Andy Kuntz (aka Arcade Andy) but he may have pulled out of there and the bar itself may be running them but he was the operator for quite some time.

Has anyone here been to both Pin-a-go-go and Golden State in the same year? How do they compare in terms of size? I could go but I'd have to cash in a ditch-the-family token, and I only have a few of those to spare.

Well, I’m biased, but PAGG is a very long running and social show. Lots of pins and lots of folks hanging around talking about pins. Golden State is, well, basically the same thing. Just South.
The best strategy is to go with someone. That somehow seems to trump the missing for a day or two malady. No way being in Sacramento can you not go to both.

    #8134 51 days ago

I have been to every one of both, back to their Roseville origins. Golden State is larger and slightly more commercial while PAGG is more “laid back”. Wouldn’t want to miss either. Each great in their own way. Heading to Dixon tomorrow.

Just got back from Pin-a-Go-Go. It’s primarily in one hall, with some classics in a side hall. The main hall has four rows of pins with a good selection.

    Some highlights:
    - Pinball Pirate is there with a couple dozen pins, including 3 Venoms, a Bond 60th, Toy Story 4, JJP GnR. Go say hi to Chris, Jeannie, and Scott and tell them Ben W sent you.
    - Legends of Valhalla, Hot Wheels, and GTF from American
    - Aliens and Queen from PB. Queen had a line around the block at noon.
    - Munsters LE
    - Someone brought a beautiful custom AIQ Pro that looks more like an LE, with sparkly blue powder coated armor.

Crowd was light just after opening, of course. I left at 12:30 and every pin was in use with some lines. Still a good time overall.
