Data East, 1992Sorry for the double posts. I tried to change the topic on the other but I didn't know how.
I have a SW I am working on. None of the lights on the CPU board come on. I checked the voltage coming from the power supply and it's around 5v. Once I plug the lines from the power supply into the CPU board shouldn't the LEDs light up initially? I swapped driver boards too and still nothing. I swapped power supplies and nothing. Is there a link I am missing?
Looks like I had a few too many brews. The voltage coming from the PS board is .5v not 5v. Seems odd that both of my PS boards would have the same issue. So many a component on the board is bad?
I'd check what you've got coming into the power supply first. Certainly it is possible to have two failed PS boards, but you still need to check what is coming from the transformer. Approximately 18 VAC @ pins 10 to 11 on CN1.
The power supply you swapped in - was a known good supply that you are certain was working, perhaps in another game?
Watch that drinking while troubleshooting - can lead to expensive mistakes.
