Quoted from lurch:Is straight up clear an option? So I can install my own colors? Or install some rgbs for JJP style led action
No I think the issue is the bottom of the inserts, see form the other thread here
Quoted from Coyote:So there's COLOR - like tintless (clear, colorless), orange, red, green, blue, purple, even white.
And then there's TEXTURE - like patterned or patternless.
Example:
This is a textured orange: http://www.pinball.center/media/image/image_62362_1.jpg
This is a textured red: https://www.marcospecialties.com//images/products/03-7644-9/large.JPG
This is non-textured clear: https://www.pinballlife.com/mm5/graphics/00000001/i_100_r_t_g_cl.jpg
I haven't seen an AFMr, but they're talking about colored inserts (like the orange, but in red) but apparently, I guess, they used noin-textured ones, instead of textured/patterned ones.
The textures are meant to capture the light from the filiment of the lightbul and 'spread it out', to help the entire insert look lit up. They're needed for LEDs, too, usually (unless using an LED with a frosted cover) to help it avoid being pinpoints.
