Go to about 70% or so into into and i asked him and he said non licensed pin - NEVER
He also talks about doing another rock pin and NOT a Ramones - this was in the UK in 2010
Well they did do other Rock pins - notably RStones,AC/DC and Metallica

Shame as it could work re unlicensed pin

And he also said about 80% in about not doing an Aliens one, wekk I guess someone thought it was doable

So glad Metallica is coming tho

Gary isn't a risk taker, and there isn't much of a need to be these days. Why make a zombie game that probably a lot of people will like, or a metallica one that already has so many people pumped to buy it.

I think Stern might do a non-licensed pin someday, but only if overall pinball sales are so high that they were sure it would sell well. I think we are a long way from that point.

Why would they? The formula they are doing now works. They sold out of LE'S in less than a day!

I've owned a Sharkey's Shootout and High Roller Casino. Striker Xtreme was rethemed into NFL to sell more units. but never say never.

exactly, that's what Gary keeps saying, when there is a license they can sell a bunch sight unseen.

It will never be another way, he has too much to lose.

not news? This has always been the understanding with Stern. The pinball community may not care about an unlicensed game, but the remaining 15% of their sales depend on it.

    Ops want instantly recognizable themes.

I think the pinball community cares a LOT about a theme. The Predator license has put that project at the top of the heap amongst all the small new companies coming forward. Yes, the game looks good, but the license got them a long way to selling out their 250 games (and more on wait list).

Pinside is full of nerds and Metal Heads...and these companies are basically selling to our homes now so why not?
