When ball hits one of the slingshots on my #Bally fireball 2 background sound stops 1 second. No specific slingshot sound is heard. Any suggestions? Thanks

Does the same happen with the pop-bumpers? If yes you aren't getting sounds from the AY-3-8912 sound generator. The problem could be the 1uF capacitor at C31 on the S&T sound board has gone open circuit. If that's the case it's probably better to re-cap the sound board.

Possibly the switch wires are shorted causing heck with the circuitry. Sometimes the slingshot assembly works loose and hangs down and shorts against the bare switch wires directly underneath it so that would be the first thing I would look for. Otherwise, it could be vibration related. Have you reflowed pins on the S&T board? Start there before you get too far.
