I have a Sharp Shooter with no sound.

Cool game.....I think it would be better with sound!

Can anyone tell me some of the common things that usually need replaced on the sound board?
Can't find anything visible.
Any help is much appreciated.

Thank you for any help.

Check that the board is getting proper volatge to start off with. There are some small pads on the power supply. Stick the black lead on your DMM on ground. Then go around and touch the red lead on all the pads one at a time. Report here what you get. Without the 5 volts, your board isnt gonna work.

Sorry to sound stupid but I am not finding the pads

J2 speaker output looks to only use two pins ( 1 and 9) I get 6.8 on 1 and 5.4 on 9

Ronnie was referring to the power supply when he asked you to test.

Since you said the game plays fine and has no sound, you can skip that and start at the post I linked to above.

If you want to skip ahead to the video - it's in this post:
