I've had to de-purple several machines I've purchased, which sadly came with an upcharge for the "premium LEDs" in them. Luckily where I'm at, purping isn't very common. I rarely see colored up machines, but there are some serious hotbeds of colored GI pinball machines and I just expect to see them when traveling to those areas.

I bought a pin once and the seller wanted an extra $250 for the LED kit he installed. So I said fine put back all the incandescent bulbs and knock $250 off your asking price then. In the end he knocked $150 off and I got to keep the LEDs which I removed myself once I brought the game home.

Well considering the acdc is mine, I'll chime in. That's stock frosted white lighting minus a strip above the jukebox and the trough was done by previous owner. The translucent bands help shine the light more bright and has red plastic protectors. The backbox has a interactive light kit installed (better then a fluorescent tube) that changes color on patterns. it's on a slow fade which is actually pretty cool and the undercab lighting is connected to a flasher and goes crazy after a game for a few seconds. I usually keep it unplugged

this is how it suppose to look. That other one looks horrible on the backglass and the back half of the playfield.

Stock lighting on the pf, minus that purple strip above the jukebox. The backbox has this installed. That's just where I happened to snap the pic. It slow fades between reds, blues, greens and purples.
Believe me, I never would have installed this, but it's here now and actually looks badass behind Helen. Hard to photograph tho

Can I ask a serious question? Why did you feel the need to put a random color underneath every white insert? I see people do that and I just don't understand, like when someone goes and makes each mode insert in STTNG a different random color of the rainbow. Why make the crosses pink for instance? How does that relate to anything in the game or even make sense? I can see if it was a logical match like in Batman Dark Knight when people match the Joker (green), Scarecrow (orange) and Batman (blue) for instance, but I don't understand just doing it for the sake of doing it. White inserts can look really good with LEDs. I'm not trying to be an ass, I just really was curious as to the reasoning why some people do this.

I don't think the color inserts are random! I feel it separates them from each other! The crosses are purple btw!.. i feel the white just looks too boring and plain for the inserts and the colors seem to give the playfield life! These are all Chinese bulbs btw..no fancy comet super bright triple surface diode shit! Cheeeap!

Johnny is still on a temp trade but coming home soon.. play with the colors more then! But I'm thinkin lots of blue in that game & have a set of mirror blades for it..so it will be an eyegasm game soooon!

Now if was a game like Spanish Eyes, we might have gave you a little leeway because the game is ugly as all shit anyway. But MET has fantastic art, and you just colorshit all over it. Shame on you.

Here's my Black Knight after restoration. Warm white frosted in all GI and color matched LED in the inserts.
