Because these games are train wrecks, and as horrible as they look, you can't avert your eyes.

The first one because it’s perfect for the holiday season.
Neither. If pinball machines looked good in those colors, the artwork would be in bright red, green, blue and purple.
Quoted from Rascal_H:The first one because it’s perfect for the holiday season.
That was my first thought. Cleland could make a holiday sound package to go with it. Replace the well walker with the abominable snowman and put Santa's head in the prison. Would be a perfect Rudolph pin.

Seems appropriate ... FOR A SHOW THAT WAS FILMED IN BLACK AND WHITE!

I bet you couldn’t see it if you turned the lights off.

Honestly surprised it's not green everywhere, because that makes sense right? Oh wait. Everything is purple.

Holy crap!! Is there a game in there somewhere?

I'd like to demo the shit out of that game man
Here is what I don't understand. I know that for some reason, some people think that the clown puke looks good in their machine. So why would they not want that look on anything else? Imagine a cell phone that has a blinding, obnoxious blue glow to it. Or a TV that is only in green and purple. Computer screens, ATMs, tablets, any of that would be so hard on the eyes if it was just like some of these pins. To each his own I guess.

I think its ignorance and they buy these LED kits without realizing that the kits are the problem. Once they took the time to install all the lights they prob realize it looks like poop but are too prideful to take them all out again and buy a whole new set and install again. I was guilty of this by not researching the kit I got for my World Cup Soccer. I am not going to name the company I got it from but they are the culprits of this awful color GI. It was all green, purple and blue. Once I installed all of it my wife and I just looked at each other and said NOPE. It was awful. It even came with purple spot lights. and purple for the back box? Can you imagine illuminating a football or baseball field with purple spotlights. I instantly went online to another company and bought 50 whites and changed out all the GI. I can happily say the WCS looks beautiful now and I have a bag full of color bulbs that I will never use.

Cointaker & (now) I believe Comet does them.
Quoted from TheLaw:Cointaker & (now) I believe Comet does them.
Not them. In fact Comet is where I bought the individual whites from. But its a shame if they are now contributing to this. Anyone want to take a gander? I would say a quarter of the pictures that are getting posted here are from their website when you click on their games LED kits.

the difference is, if you have a phone glow blue, you are not illuminating anything with the light. or trying to light up something that normally is dark. So color accents look ok.
There is a reason people do not look good in bars that are lit up with all neon lighting only.

I don't even want to know what bars you hand out in.

how the shit did those color choices even happen?
I think it went something like this......
I need to put LED's in here.
I'm out of LED's.
Oh wait, here's a couple of purples rolling around in the bottom of the drawer.
Guess we have to make due, because heaven forbid, we put regular bulbs in anything ever again.

Who does this to their machines???? Where is all the purple in every GI socket???? You can actually see the artwork!!!! And its not even washed out!!!! Tasteless. Its almost like that's the way the artwork was intended to be seen.
I think my choice is like.
This isn't 100% specific to GI. But, do you consider putting lights in the star posts in the bottom sling area an affront to your color sensibilities?
It seems OK to me as long as the GI is still white/stock. It just seems to add a little more light to the area. Just curious how others perceive this type of "mod?"
Attached is an example from The Shadow

I guess if they're white it technically isn't bombing, just adding more light. If the post is colored though it might be creeping too close though.

generally not visually painful, but generally dumb.

I don't think it all that bad, as long as there is sufficient white. Here, the GI is white. Just don't overdo it. A couple of colored posts to accent here and there isn't crazy.

Yeah I mean it isn't CB or CP but...needed? Fair enough for the elderly I guess.

Pure atrocity. Colored leds in this nice pin is really the most stupid thing to do.
