Since mostly what we do is post the same LED kits by the same seller, I'll contribute.

Personally, I don’t think it looks that bad. I would stick with all white too, but it’s not even as close as bad as some other games in this thread imo.

I wouldn't colorize every white insert, but I am thinking I might colorize the white fish bodies on my FT sometime in the future.

That makes that specific game look better imo. When they are “color coded” like that, you should really match the color with some leds.

wayout440 I’ve learned to embrace white LEDs for GI. The problem with buying new Sterns is that the old B/W titles start to look too dark. So I’ve adapted.

I agree, it’s not awful. It just detracts from the playfield art, to me. But it doesn’t affect gameplay, so I wouldn’t bitch if I had to play it in league.

You, see - puking isn't going away. We are constantly seeing new products for the puker. It's not enough to puke with individual color LEDs, now we have new forms of LED strips and sticks that can be shoved in any corner of the game, along the sides, along the back, in the outhole, and even in the shooter lane.

I have this mod on my Metallica. I think it looks awesome. Now, let's get this thread back on topic, which is where we whine like girls about how other people like their machines to look..... Thanks.

Exactly. Why can't a white insert stay white? Why does the entire playfield have to look like a rainbow? Can we expand this club to include no rainbow puking of white/clear inserts? What's wrong with a little white on some of the inserts?
I realize the trend now is color changing RGB LED's and everything has to have pulsating color. I like old games and not be overloaded with color.

this is not that offending, for 2 reasons.
1. It's an insert and isn't effecting your ability to see the ball.
2. What you are illuminating is pretty much one solid color already, so you are not destroying much as far as art goes. But you will lose the scale detail in the fish by doing this, as now....instead of having contrast, and accentuating the scales. you will now bury them with background lighting into a solid panel of color.
MGC had some horrible offenders of Colorpoop. But more were done correctly than were not. I only saw 3 major offenders that would make stevie wonder cry.
That Popeye is such an absolute shame because it is almost as if the game was made for cool white LEDs. I bought a filthy routed one and went through and cleaned it up and it was beautiful with cool white GI. The best part is that it wasn't a kit that cost me $200 plus either. Win/win.
