Quoted from wayout440:EM's are the worst to puke.
Adding colored LEDs to an EM should be illegal. Not that color bombing other games shouldn't, but there's an honest sacredness that surrounds an EM game.
Quoted from Colsond3:Man, why would you do that to an IJ? Such great art...that you now can't see at all. And are they added red LED strips to the upper playfield? I don't recall there being that many bulbs up there.
Exactly what I said. Turns out the whole deal is a retrofitted setup that he got off of Amazon
Quoted from _KIRK_:After 30 years as an art director I have found that most non-artists think they know better than artists. Thus, ugly crap fests like this.
Well, it's clear that for an art director, you don't understand how art works.
If you were to study at the feet of one of these modern day "bulb artists", you would have a true socratic experience of learning.
(Someone actually un-ironically referred to LED guys as "bulb artists" a few pages back. If you can believe it.)
What you do is, you take a boring, crumby old translight and you stick colored bulbs behind it that are really bright.
As we all know from the teachings of Plato and Aristotle, the best art is art that "pops" with maximum color poppage.
For example, behold the makeover from Bores-ville to Fabulous-poppage-town with just a few bulbs:
Let's work through this "bulb artistry" so you can understand better.
See how the figure on the left is wearing a blue shirt and the key looking things on the right are bluish colored? What you do is put a blue bulb under those areas. Boom. Welcome to the land of awesomeness.
The figures in the center of the picture are white guys wearing tan suits. What color is the same as tan? The answer is yellow. Surprised you didn't know that. Okay so BOOM, you put really bright yellow bulbs under those figures.
Boom.
Poppage. The ancient latin phrase is "poppage athena colliseum tiberius", to denote when the maximum level of beauty has been reached.
Swallow your jealousy and learn to respect "bulb artists". For your own benefit and the benefit of your customers.
That Party Zone really leaves you on edge with the playfield puked but the backboard not. Makes both the purists and the pukers uncomfortable.
A Batman on location in Brighton UK. Playfield was so dark you couldn't see the ball properly and whenever the flashers were triggered (these were super bright led's, obviously) you went blind like a camera had been flashed at you and lost the ball, unplayable, why oh why!!
I love pics like that Dr Who all that time and money thrown at a game to make it look like crap....and it has a credit dot.
This is still going? Yikes.
Who cares what color a pin is...just keep them clean people. Remember to clean the glass (both sides), wipe down the pf, and especially clean the rubbers. Dirty rubbers is not a good look.
Quoted from PersonX99:This is still going? Yikes.
Yep they're still puking them all over the place...uff it's sad.

Bwahahahaha! Thanks for the education. Detailed and clear artwork is clearly for idiots and people who don't "get it".

Everyone is just soooooo disappointed with this thread.
When does Alan Funt jump out and reveal that this is all a giant wacky prank that you guys are playing on me?
This cannot be a real thing. It's impossible that someone could think this pin looks good.
If you showed this translite to a guy with an 80 IQ wearing a Wrestlemania t-shirt, he would laugh at it.
Why does the joker have two bright blue lights burning through his chest?
Why does batman have a purple face and a blue forehead and one blue ear?
You cannot make general illumination sockets work as accent lighting. It will not work.
Was there some giant sale on purple LEDs?
100 bulbs for a $1
purple is the dominant hue of clown puke by a huge margin, followed by blue, then pink
Quoted from GorillaBiscuits:NONONONONONONONO
bu bu bu bu bu bu water is BLUE so it should look Blue! Other than the white mountains cause the tops of all mountains are white right?
Strange, I have that game and it is called "WHITE WATER"

Wow, perfect example of crapping on a translight.
The biggest sin is after they spend all this money on these puke fests, they think they are now worth a dollar a play on location.
Quoted from TheLaw:bu bu bu bu bu bu water is BLUE so it should look Blue! Other than the white mountains cause the tops of all mountains are white right?
blue bulbs have the electrolytes that water-themed pinball games crave
cause water is like, all blue
and stuff

I can see that, since there are several non artists in this thread that try and argue and justify this bullshit.

When you lose sight of the ball it drains so you make more money
Quoted from TomT:I love pics like that Dr Who all that time and money thrown at a game to make it look like crap....and it has a credit dot.
I notice a lot of clown puke games have credit dots and miss aligned flippers
Quoted from jsyjay:Yellow GI?!
Kind of dig it for TWD. Interesting vibe. At least it's not all purple.
Quoted from jawjaw:Kind of dig it for TWD. Interesting vibe. At least it's not all purple.
I feel the same way about the Fire! earlier in this thread. Perhaps it is because the color temp of yellow is closer to incandescent lighting. Notice purple is nowhere to be found on this chart.
Quoted from Colsond3:Other than the purple, that's a damn nice TOM.
Oh, you can tell it looks nice?
Quoted from PinballManiac40:Oh, you can tell it looks nice?
? Don't get it?
Looks to be restored, in good condition, gold plating is nice including the coin door…I can imagine a game that looks like that from a distance doesn't have a beat up cab, ton of PF wear, etc.

It was a joke, Sir. With all the purple and not a close up picture, I can't tell how nice it really might be.

Gotcha...I guess you're right. Especially judging because a ton of people LED the piss out of these games and put new rubbers on, but the game doesn't even function or isn't adjusted properly, because those things aren't really important.

I posted pics of the playfield a page or so back

This pretty much sums up the majority of the machines that I played at shows up and down the east coast last year. These sellers think that adding gaudy LED's and rubbers on a half working and poorly adjusted pin will get it sold along with ridiculously high asking price better reserved for a much nicer "fully working" example.
Quoted from Midway-Man:I like keeping my games original. So I just go with warm white
Very nice. I haven't seen a Mousin' in quite awhile.
looks stock to me. Just glare from the glass. Good way to get rid of that is put a glare guard in the lift channel. Eliminates it 100%.
Quoted from skywalker:this whole website kill me,

Another thing I don't get there is every game looks exactly the same. Same color palette. It's one thing to put LEDs in and accent one certain area, but the entire lineup looks exactly the same. Especially the backglasses and translites.

Double ^Ouch^
I am seeing a backlash. The movement of "honesty" is on a large FB group. Some people were honest, some lashed back. But after a bit of discussion the original poster "saw the light".

Exactly!
