I think that looks fine on the creature.

Quoted from Shapeshifter:People ask if powder coating adds value to their game.
I always try and knock money off as it costs more money to go back to factory and sanity
Agreed, I don't think some of the machines in here are bad, but I wouldn't pay for it. Really hate when a seller thinks you need to pay up because they painted the hardware.
Admitting you have a problem is the first step
Quoted from rollinover:sorry if its wrong, i love the fresh powder in here and it feels so right lol
Quoted from o-din:For every trophy given out, there will always be a few that disagree with that decision.
And nobody makes anybody open any thread they don't want to.
Why hasn't anyone posted the new CGC MBrLE and it's factory candy metallic blue? Is that because it was tastefully done?
Probably because it was factory? Isn't this just for 'aftermarket/home done' ones? I mean, no offense but they didn't do it years ago due to cost reasons. I will agree some peoples ideas of the 'right' color are questionable, but for the most part, I don't see an issue with it.
I think the "customization" craze is well intentioned but... here is a little ditty dedicated to all those who are thinking about doing it...
Sung to "Girls Talk" by Elvis Costello:
"Pin Drop"
There are some things you can't cover up with LEDs and powder...
You got yourself an old fashioned pin but now it's looking like chowder...
Don't come any closer, don't come any nearer
My vision of you can't get any queerer,
Oh I..... just want to here pins drop.
Got a loaded imagination inspired by pinball...
It's a more or less situation on how it hurts eyeballs...
Don't go getting artsy, don't go getting weird...
I suppose your goal was exactly as I feared... right here
And now.... pin drop
And they want to know how... pin drop
And they say it's not allowed... pin drop
If they say that it's so don't you think that you'd know by now...
But the word upon everyone's lips is your pin's getting faded...
You do not have a new flashy pin, and it's pretty outdated...
Was it really murder
Were you just pretendin'
Your powder coat is saying "This pin has seen it's end" pin drop
And now.... pin drop
And they want to know how... pin drop
And they say it's not allowed... pin drop
If they say that it's so don't you think that you'd know by now...
Which one is yours? Asking for a friend. I kid, I kid.
Quoted from Palmer:Which is tackier? All of these games or the OP for calling them out? Asking for a friend.
Too be fair, I don’t hate all powdercoating.
Games I think it looks great on:
Hobbit
Star Trek
Alice Cooper
Quoted from Bublehead:Why hasn't anyone posted the new CGC MBrLE and it's factory candy metallic blue? Is that because it was tastefully done?
It looks bad, but it's saved by 2 things.
1. It's not green
2. All of these are much worse.
Quoted from PACMAN:Which one is yours? Asking for a friend. I kid, I kid.
Haha. I’m not a fan of powder coating at all. Especially when the coin door matches the legs and the rails. I do like my hobbit though. It’s subtle.

To each his own... going to delete my comment here. I like shiny stuff... some like colors. To each his own.
This thread is fuckin' stupid. Who are you (packman) to judge what people want to put on their machines. It's silly... and quite frankly not very cool to make fun of.

I 100% agree with KK with the exception of that Pink Dirty Harry. WTF were they thinking??? Lol

Don't like it don't read it. Whom the fuck are you to tell people what to post? He never said they couldn't do it, just that they look like shit, which they do.
Or are you a ray of sunshine now?
Quoted from kcZ:Agree... Coin door matching the legs is just awful in every version.
I kind of like my coin doors and legs to match. Maybe it's just me judging by this thread.
Customized does not mean better except by the customizer... we can not criticize a customizer for their selection, that is getting personal. We can criticize their selection as being fuggly, garish, nightmarish, or just being plain old "wtf were you thinking" wrong. That is a comment on the results. I would not be upset if someone posted my pin here... that is the opinion of a single person... until it is upvoted 37 times, then that says something a little harsher. But some of these just simply scream "why?"
I enjoy a good mod, some good powder, and some interesting restorations, but some might say you are putting a comic strip in a gilded frame, especially anyone trying to flip a pin by hook or by crook. No amount of powder, mods, or bling can make a Genesis machine anything better than it originally was, no offense to Genesis machine owners.
Quoted from TheLaw:Don't like it don't read it. Whom the fuck are you to tell people what to post? He never said they couldn't do it, just that they look like shit, which they do.

Perhaps he's still waiting on an answer in his own thread.

I think its a paper towel dispenser to wipe away tears of laughter or sadness.
Quoted from Sinistarrett:Is that a giant roll of toilet paper mounted on top of that Xenon?
Like it or not, people have customized cars, pinballs, front doors on their houses for years. Not saying I'm a fan, but who cares.
Quoted from jj44114:Like it or not, people have customized cars, pinballs, ...
Please no carguments
Carguments get you moderated... especially if you pick a side and troll the others... got me temp banned in nothing flat...
Quoted from RTS:[quoted image]
WTF? That must be a Simpsons Ms. Pacman pinball party.....Wonder how that coin door would look on a Ms Pacman arcade....or maybe not.
TEALiscious! Is it blue? Is it green? Aw screw it, lets do both.
Mod edit: Photos removed, please do not use someones photos without the owners permission.
Quoted from PACMAN:Jurassic Puke. Actually i kinda like this one.
I think we should be clear that powdercoating is not necessarily a bad thing and can enhance the look and feel of a game. After all there is a reason why LE's have it and people pay top dollar for it. I do agree that in some cases, the colors are way out of wack with the game and diminish the look of the game. I personally love the look and feel of powdercoating on my Bally/Williams but I absolutely draw the line with powdercoatind EM's and classic Sterns and Bally's. They need to stay original to keep their charm.
I bought a Tron LE a few years back that had that ugly orange powdercoating on it and I couldn't stand looking at it every time I played it. I finally decided to re-chrome and powdercoat in blue clear over it to give it an electric look. I like it better than standard chrome and way better than that orange. If tastefully done, powdercoating can enhance but done wrong can really take away from the game. Here's my TRON LE.
