The pegs remind of the stands I believe gottlieb used in the 80s. I think my monte carol had those. Hated them ended up propping it on the slingshots brackets to lockdown. The stands didn't move the pf out enough.
Nothing directly at Home Depot, but with conduit a bender and hammer to flatten the ends one could build a sweet full pf rails.

Lastly the easiest way to never finish a discussion is to not actually talk about the original problem. Some hoods have springs to hold up the hood once up. Gen 2 Camaro 50s Chevy trucks.
