at first it looked like one trough opto was not working all the time so i cleaned and tested them all and works fine in test mode but i still keep getting only 2 balls in mb. and i have 4 balls in the machine confirmed. so what do i need to check here? subways? vuks?

Still unresolved

It sounds like the game is thinking three balls are in play, typically a divot on the ball trough causing the balls to not roll downward toward the trough upkicker and fooling the game, making it think more than two balls are in play.

i have had that prob before with my jd but those were switches. i cleaned and tested the optos in the trough on nf but i could re investigate.

by the way i fixed my jd with this and it worked great!

take it out of JD and throw it in NF. If that plastic thing is solving your problems, then your problem likely isnt divots in the trough but rather magnetized balls. Either get some non magnetic balls or get the plastic insert.

I really struggled with this in my NO Fear, even the plastic for the Through did not do the trick but in fact it was a gravity feed issue, Had to re-level the game just right to get it to work and still was only 75% of the time. To test the theory I would bang the game to get the third to feed and see if your all good then tinker away

Very common problem in DE 6 ball trough games also.

I can see that being a possibility. Sold JD with plastic though

Feed from the skydive lock?

Could be, if the ball is hanging up on a switch in the subway, that could also fool the game. I never had the problem on NF, but I have had that happen on some other games with underplayfield return subway ramps., CFTBL for example..

Thanks! Had same problem periodically. Cleaned optics and added Pinbits trough guide and full multiball function is smooth and faster launch between balls

ok i have found that when the machine wants to give you only 2 balls for multiball, i give the machine a good shake and then the 3rd ball will shoot up from the trough into the shooter lane. (as most machines do for multiball)

those optos are tested and working. maybe there is a burr in the tough and the ball is not getting all the way to the opto? maybe the shake is what gets it to the opto? so maybe the trough plastic will help this afterall?

Plastic trough insert will definitely help. I installed one on my NF and never have a problem. I would say if you are having to give the game a shake or punch the flipper then the ball is probably sitting on a divot in the trough.

ok ill check for a divot and order the plastic likley
