I recently obtained a No Fear that needed some tlc. Most things are an easy fix with the exception of the jump ramp magnets. Never had a No Fear but from what I've read the first magnet (left) is to stop the ball and the other two carry and accelerate the ball? I have found that when the left magnet stops the ball it is doing so before the ball has cleared the gate and buzzes loudly before releasing the ball after about 15 seconds which causes the ball to roll back down the ramp. The other two make no such buzzing. Any thoughts?? Thanks...

Could be something loose on the magnet assembly. It is quite normal in my opinion however. Usually they fire the magnets at high power first to grab the ball, then lower it. The first couple seconds can make some more noise.

Is it normal for it to hum before ball launch or is it activated when the ball passes the optos? Does anyone know if it should clear the gate before being held so it then goes down the wire ramp instead of back down the ramp from where it came? I'll check to see if it's mounted securely.

Anyone else have a suggestion??

Mine buzzes but only a few seconds. Then it comes down the ramp toward the left flipper..wire ramp

Yes I have owned 2 No fears and both buzz when passing the optos. it will send the ball back down the left when that happens. It depends on the mode some modes clear the gate but if it buzzes and still clears the optos that means your magnets are not strong enough . the buzz means it should come back down the left side and a few modes cause that to happen. let me know if you have any questions.

Mine doesn't buzz on a normal launch up the ramp. It will buzz in the modes where it stops the ball for the shot from the left flipper( then it drops the ball into the ramp to the left inlane). iirc its the nascar mode and the Glenn Plake mode.

My left magnet would buzz and hold the ball until the machine timed out. Then I blew fuse 103 shortly after, not sure if related.

Im not blowing a fuse but the ball is held with the buzzing left magnet from 10m to 15 seconds the stops allowing the ball to roll back down the left ramp.
