I am having an issue with a NF dmd not working. I have checked the dmd in another game and the dmd does light up and work properly. I pulled the fuses on the dmd board and they tested fine, reseated all connectors including the ribbon cable.
I tested voltages at the plug that attaches to the dmd and they appear to be correct.
Plug/Wires:
Orange 122.2 V
Blue 121.3 V
Pin
Black 0 V
Black 0 V
Grey 5.1 V
Grey/Yellow 12.4 V
Brown 14.1 V

I also installed a different ribbon cable from a different machine and that did not help. I am not sure what else I can check as I have power to the plug that attaches to the dmd. I have also tried using a spare dmd and that would not light up as well.

Any ideas or what I should look at next? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Can you try a different DMD driver board ?

Try different ribbon cable from CPU to DMD driver board ?

Should be 62 volts.

Thank you all for the responses. This gives me a good starting point and I will research on why I am not getting the correct voltage. Thank you fellows for the quick response.

FYI. If you go with a ColorDMD, you would not have to worry about repairing the -110v,-100v, or 62v as it will not need those voltages. And the display looks awesome in color.

Or you can send out the DMD controller board for repair. If you want to repair it, there is a list of parts you would need to replace. https://www.greatplainselectronics.com/proddetail.asp?prod=WPC-HVP-KIT

If you find that the board has been overheated beyond repair then you can use this.

There is also this board which replaces a burnt up HV section:

Thanks guys for all of the options, I had no idea so much was available.

Update, I have access to a rottendog dmd board that I can borrow from a friend so I am going too install that to see if it takes care of the problem. If so, I may just get the board repaired depending on the cost or purchase a new board. I will have access to the game tomorrow so I will update you all on what I find out.

Thank you again for the responses.

Rottendog was installed and dmd is now working, I plan on having the board that was removed looked at by Rob Anthony at GSPF to find out if it is repairable. Thank you again for the information provided.

You can post pictures of the front and back of the DMD controller board. It is rare these are not repairable.
