Was hoping somebody in the USA had an extra one available before ordering one with international shipping.
I like the dark better. It's most likely the original color scheme, and the other has faded over time.
Quoted from Palmer:Anyone have a spare set of cabinet decals they want to sell? If not, where is the best place to purchase them?
You don't want to paint one ZILLION flames by hand?
In the process of doing a cab now, seeing flames in my sleep. Almost makes me wish I would have bought decals...
ALMOST!
Quoted from topkat:I am replacing the main ramp bc the magnet had melted a large divot
Was there any Sort of fix that came out to prevent the magnets from melting again
We always inline fused the TAF magnets. I'm not sure if you could "tune" the amperage load on that magnet as it is on for such a short time? The fuse would only help if the magnet became stuck on in the energized position, do you know if it happened during regular game play, or was it because of a failure?
Quoted from yzfguy:That looks fantastic!
Thanks! I thought it came out pretty good. I did fade the red down a bit farther after looking at this picture for awhile...
Quoted from mollyspub:Interesting. Details on the process
1) Paint the flames and words using transparent yellow airbrush paint and a paintbrush.
2) Mask off all the black with frisket.
3) Second coat all the flames and words using transparent yellow airbrush paint and a paintbrush, because the yellows were faded to nearly white on this cab.
4) Learn how ro PROPERLY use and setup an airbrush
5) Airbrush the red using lightly thinned transparent red airbrush paint.
6) Remove frisket from the cab.
6a) Curse and swear as you pull a bunch of the red paint off the cab along with the frisket and now you have RUINED your nice clean edges and am contemplating setting this cab on fire for REAL, having wasted a week of your life...
7) Swear a bunch more
Use Qtips to straighten out your paint peeled edges, wasting ANOTHER DAY OF YOUR LIFE... leaving behind a super-sweet yellow outline.
9) Play better!
With the length of the flipper shaft assembly, I have found that not all bushings are created equal. I have had to try several different bushings, with different amounts of play. I also found it helpful to leave a bit more clearance between the bushing and where the shaft clamps to the flipper assembly. It's unnatural, as it feels like the whole flipper shaft is "wobbly" but that extra bit of play really helps (in my game) to smooth out the stroke of the flipper. Just make sure that the bat is not rubbing on the ramp and see if that helps.
