Quoted from setzkor:Three sets of optos on the subway. All wiring colors and location would be in the manual (2-36 and 2-37)[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
Thanks! Unfortunately he doesn't have a manual and I want to save the paper and ink from printing one. I would if it were mine and too hard to read schematics on my phone.

Yeah, I would print one off, but not my machine. Too hard to read schematics on a phone too.

The 2 sets of optos you are missing completely should be fed from a 6 pin (3x2) molex on the lower right side. My guess is they removed that whole harness.15634076070379076886707693619154 (resized).jpg
The other near the vuk is fed from another 6 pin mid playfield.

Thank you! Someone up in the tread posted pics so thanks to everyone who helped.
Oh, and I've made 18 or 19 jumps in a row. It's one of the few shots I can make fairly consistently!

Young whippersnapper!
Quoted from arcyallen:Does anyone have a better solution to protecting the playfield from the ball drop here? I see someone installed a cliffy on the rollover which is close, but the dent (just above the cliffy) is still there and will surely get bigger over time.
[quoted image]
You are right, over a long enough period of time things could change. But if it is HOU now, given the number of plays when routed for maybe 20+ years compared to how many it gets now... it doesn't seem like something to be really really concerned about.
Not everything needs super protection; these games are pretty durable to have lasted this long!
Quoted from topkat:Can someone please post a similarly angled photo as I did so I can determine if my setup is correct
Thanks
(Assuming your makes the jump)

Sorry for the long delay! And yes, it definitely makes the jumps just fine.

Wow, AMAZING!! This would also be great on my AC/DC Premium! Plans to sell them?
I still
Have a bear of time making the jumps.
I am curious how high above the playfield the ur flipper is. When I try to do the normal distance it seems like since it’s a heavier metal bat it drops down some.
Also do you have the edge of the flipper in line with the right side of ramp ?
FYI I'm selling some cool blueprints on ebay a couple of sets of the skull & jaw during different processes if anyone is interested.

Here's a pic of mine. It's tough to make mine all the time also but that's because my ramp got a warped from a locked on magnet but I actually haven't changed it cause it's harder and i never say anything as people play it
You have the Lightning Flipper mod also which might make it harder to shoot also.

I shifted mine a little bit. Will see
What difference would the lightening flipper make? I didn’t even realize I had done that.

The Lightning flipper is shorter than a standard length flipper. The shot for the loop is almost at the end of the flipper already so if yours is shorter it would just make it a little harder to hit the sweat spot on the loop ramp. I wanted to get the lighting flipper also for tournaments so it is harder to repeat the loop.
I'm not that good in tournaments but some of these guys can hit the same shot over and over again, so making a little harder is what you would want in a tournament. Just my thoughts.
Just picked up a No Fear. Looking forward to shopping it and getting everything working.
Bonehead has a missing red lens for the right eye. Anyone know here to get a replacement?

I'd go with something along these lines and adapt.

Hey I just joined the club a couple weeks ago. It looks to be in great condition just needs the usual flipper rebuild, leds, rubbers and a good cleaning. Also judging by the pile of metal shavings under the upper flipper, a new long bushing. Anyone know where I can pick one up? Seems like they are out of stock most places. Can’t wait to go through this bad boy. Cheers

has to be one of the switches near bye is being triggered by the vibration. I'd pull the glass and figure which of the nearby targets give 500, then check gap.
Also could go into the switch test mode, hit the flipper and see if another switch triggers as well...
Quoted from PunishersLEMC:Since I got this I can't stop playing! Super fun and under rated game that has great flow... My poor CFTBL is just sitting there
Need customer apron cards for it and a color DMD..
I play the darn thing until my knees give out at night. So much fun. I have not had this much fun with any newer game at all.
This is one of the better color DMDs I have seen or had.
Do you guys have the magnet speed set fast or slow, for when it whips the ball around for the jump. I swtiched to slow thinking I'd be better hitting the jumps, but I think its easier to get in a groove when its moving quicker
I just picked one up this weekend cabinet isn’t that bad, it was covered in paint

I have 5.0V at the pack "directly" at batteries, and 4.2V at the end of the leads, after what I assume is an inline diode. That seems like too big of a drop, and I'm having the "Factory Settings Restored" issue which I've been troubleshooting with no luck so far.
Sadly leaving the club.
If anyone know someone who wants a nice example here’s one for trade
Quoted from Gorgar666:Is there a ROM update on this Classic?
I think it’s supposed to load a ball into the shooter lane and launch it into the skull. Kind of like how bsd loads one for mist.
Quoted from Pinhead306:I think it’s supposed to load a ball into the shooter lane and launch it into the skull. Kind of like how bsd loads one for mist.
I have that turned off in the adjustment settings. When the game is turned on it resets the drop target and gently rustles the balls in the trough.
Finally got my new mountain installed. Little darker than the OEM one but my mounting tabs were broken. Just to have a solid piece in there again as the old one was flying around a bit. I used some clear lexan washers to keep the balls away this time! I'm going to mount an led reflector on the sling shot and maybe shoot it with a red led to brighten it up a bit. I got the new mountain from https://www.starship-fantasy.com/ but I don't see it on their page. I run into them at a few pinball shows yearly and he had them on his table. Can't remember what I paid for it but it was'nt that bad.

First, I need to put on the decals. There are 4. The first 3 were easy, but the last one was unglued from my old ramp and I don't know where it goes. It is square-ish, black, and is about 2 sq inch.
Anybody can tell me where it goes? Picture?
Thanks.

I'm half way through a restore at the moment and was wondering the same thing when rebuilding my ramps. I was lucky I had the old broken ramps as a reference. See the attached pics.
20200411_165024 (resized).jpg20200411_165032 (resized).jpgHere is a shameless plug for a No Fear upper flipper and the bushing that I have for sale here on Pinside. Sometimes they are hard to find in the States.
Something odd happened recently. I after not playing my No Fear for a few months, I turned it on and played. I didn't like it. It was VERY odd, as it's always been a Top 5 game for me. But over the last month I've played dozens of games and somehow have rapidly fallen out of love with it. Maybe it's my newly acquired Metallica and WCS, or maybe it's just me. But I'm officially out of the club.
Anyone else ever have this happen with a game?
