Blue sounds like a great complement. I love the clear coin returns. Used them on one myself.

The flame polishing isn't too bad if you don't get greedy. Will be easy to test with your old bad ramps. I remember when Pinball Inc. went to Allentown with his ramps, James would be flame polishing the new ones on the table lol! First time there I was like WTF! Then I learned about the process.
You’re doing it right! Attention to detail. If it’s not worth doing right, it’s not worth doing.
Stay cool to both of ya!
Quoted from cosmokramer:Cabinet painting, chapter 2...
After doing more research I came to the conclusion that I am not doing anything incorrectly. I've sprayed lots of cabs with automotive paints and never really had a problem, the ONLY difference here is that this paint is thicker.
All my equipment seemed to be working properly as well...
Seemed to be.
After some additional testing I started to get some weird numbers at my pressure gauge in the spray booth. I found that an inline water separator between the compressor and regulator was not allowing proper air passage through it, thus causing a drop in pressure as soon as the trigger was pulled.
I removed the separator on the hose and tested the spray pattern again and this time the results were much better.
I pulled the cab from the booth and completely sanded the entire thing, cleaned my booth and put down a new plastic "floor". I set up some much better lighting, then put the cab back in and laid down a fresh coat of blue.
Great job in the end. Nothing is ever easy but you have exceptional skills and got through it. Enjoying the progress!
I’ve used metal tubing and cut it down. It’s the style that’s unslotted and just gets the nut hold it right?
Quoted from pinballinreno:I cut off a piece of 3/8" steel pipe of an old 3/8" nipple on my Taxi.
3/8" ID pipe should be 1/2" OD
Go to Ace Hardware and possibly find a bushing that fits over a 3/8" bolt that is 1/2" long and 1/2" wide. Or match up your existing one.
Its just a spacer so, anything will work

They call them spacers at the hardware store:

1/2" are hard to come by, so get a 1" cut them down
That works too. I’m anal about details like that. But happy to cut you off some Cosmo!
Excellent work troubleshooting! This stuff always happens. Great support here from folks too!
Seeing yours makes me miss mine.
W O W A SEXY GIRL!
Seriously, well done. It came out great. You should be honored. When will you come out to the east coast to hang?!
