Maintenance issue. LOTR can not find the balls. I tested the switches and it seems that 11 & 12 the ball trough ball micro switches are not working correctly. It doesn't seem to be the optos so I guess that is good. My question is how hard is it to replace these switches? What's the procedure? I am thinking of just ordering a new trough assembly and swapping it out. I can't say my mechanical skills are high. Anyone else run into this situation? Suggestions?
The balls are there and can be ejected via the service menu but when the machine is turned on it goes into ball search and says 4 balls missing. The switch matrix test says 11 and 12 are active. I have never seen the inside of the trough so I am not sure if the switches just need adjusting or are broken or what I should be looking for. I watched some youtube videos on the optos but I don't think that is the issue.

Since your game has micro switches with rollers on the arm, I'd forget optos except for the couple at the end of your ball trough, which isn't your problem.
