To any nip it owners.or EM gurus. I just picked up a nip it. And was hoping I could get some help on figuring out where the issue is.

Everything works normally. However I can not set the game to 5 ball. If I change the 3-5 ball jumper it still stays on 3 ball. Even with the jumper unplugged. I have gone over the ball in play unit and it seems to be functioning. And I can manually bypass ball 3 to 4 if I hold the game over relay. Then it progresses to ball 5 and game over normally.

But no matter what I've done, I can't figure out why it always ends a game after ball 3. On both settings. Unless I'm looking in the wrong place for the 3-5 ball jones plug.. or there is something in the schematics I'm missing.

Try unsoldering the 3-ball connection to the ball count unit:

Thanks I got it working. Now I just need to figure out why only player 1 the bonus resets to 1000 lit. For every other player it resets but doesn't engage to light 1000 from the start of a ball. Its not lit untill I hit the bonus target then it lights and advances normally.

Picture with 1000 bonins lit is player 1 ball one. The one without it lit is player 2 ball 1. It does this for every player on every ball except for player 1. It works as it should.

The circuit that advances the bonus unit at the start of each ball is a bonus unit blade switch that closes at zero position, a normally closed switch on the ball index relay, and score motor cam 10 switch A. Inspect, clean and adjust switches if needed. Unless some mechanical problems exist, this problem shouldn’t be multi player related.

Thanks I'll check that. I noticed the ball index relay sticks closed. Only on players 2-4 And if I manually release it. And advance the score motor it resets the 1000 for players 2-4 as it should.

The score cam switches were bent to hell on this game. All stacks were squashed. . I will do some reinspection. This is the last issue to fix.
I thought I had it all correct.

I believe it was actually the timing of cam 10.-11. as the score motor was a mess when I got this game. I adjusted cam 10-11. And the ball index and bonus advance now operate normally.

I think this has got it. So far 3 4 player games and it's worked everytime. I'll report back if something else weird comes up.

    Thanks for the help!
    Eric.
