Got mine yesterday as in the southern hemisphere...played for 4.5 hours last night and so far it feels like they have improved upon BoTW which I loved (love all the Zeldas except Skyward Sword and Majoras Mask...?).

New mechanics are a great addition!

I have no life right now!
Between new pinball games, PS5 games, Switch games, Retro games and NETFLIX.
I have no REAL life!
Time for a tech break me thinks

Quoted from Sandman33:

The poster is made from steel and I think you can use those pins like cufflinks if you ever wear a dress shirt. Not bad for 50 bucks more.

Damn, pretty nice! That reminds me, I wanted to get my hands on some of those books Nintendo put out a few years ago

#4305 4 months ago

Thank you for this. Some of those 3DS games stand out to me as less expensive to obtain. GameStop also only cares about cartridges.

Sure thing! My kid picked up 2 games at a pawn shop for $18 and drove straight to Gamestop. She said it was easy peasy.

Turned in 3 games and paid $6 for the new Zelda. Thank you to you and your daughter!

Back in the day I remember Ubisoft dumping some of there titles as double packs. They would just cellophane two game together. You could buy I think it was Splinter Cell and Beyond Good and Evil for $19 at Walmart in the bargain bin and they both still had $40 trade in value. I ranked up some store credit on that one.

Looks like $130 gets you the game plus a steelcase, art book, set of pins, and metal poster.[quoted image]

if anyone is still looking for a collector's edition, I have an extra australian edition (same contents, and the game is region-free).
full disclosure that the item wasn't packaged well so the box has a few dings in it. additionally, unbeknownst to me, apparently australian games in collector editions do not come shrink wrapped, however everything is brand new.

shoot me a pm for details.

Nintendo having a big event this weekend at Mall Of America in Minnesota. New larger Switch on display & Mario cart 8 with 4 player setup. Some cool swag.

Amazing nintendo direct today

Super mario rpg remake

A new 2d super mario bros "wonder"

New 2d princess peach game.

#4315 3 months ago

The new Mario looks awesome, nice to see the updated visuals, I don't know how I feel about the talking seems out of place in Mario. I'm down with Pikmin 4 they are always worth a go. Super Mario RPG is a toss up for me the original was incredible back in the day with the whole isometric view. An isometric RPG today feels kinda dated. Detective Pikachu could be cool but graphically it looks pretty terrible.

Just started. I want to take a week off work and explore Hyrule.

Excited to replay Pikmin 1 & 2. I never beat the first one on Gamecube back in the day but the second one was one of my favorite games back then.

#4318 3 months ago

We love the switch here! We used to play our AtGames legends stand up arcade but most nights we use the switch since we got it about 9 months ago. Haven’t gotten into any single player games other than Animal Crossing but we play that as a family anyway, as it’s pretty much a way for me to spend fun time with my girls 10 and 6. Our favorites are
Super Smash Bros
Animal Crossing
Switch Sports
Mario Kart
And to a lesser extent we play a Japanese drumming game, a running obstacle course game, Tetris and most recently discovered all the free NES and SNES games that I didn’t know about.
I want to give the Zelda games a go but I just don’t have the time!!

I wish I could get into Pikmin…I feel like I’m letting my super best friend legend idol Shiggy down by not getting into it. I have Pikmin 3 on Wii U…but every time I play it, it makes me sleepy or confused lol

Super Mario Wonder looks awesome, but the title kinda sucks and the logo is horrible. Pre-ordered!

I'd recommend at least trying Pikmin 2. Its a deeper game than the first and also gets rid of the horrible 30 day time limit.

Mario Wonder does look pretty good. Sort of gives me LocoRoco (PSP game) vibes, which is a good thing.

New WarioWare also looks good and similar to the Wii version which was a lot of fun.

#4321 3 months ago

agreed. the major problem with the first pikmin was realizing halfway through the game that you missed something and were not going to get the "good" ending without a way (other than restarting your game) to go back.

#4322 3 months ago

So excited for mgs!!!
Mario wonder looks like Mario on lsd, but fun.
Pikmin 4, ugh, I’ll probably get but like 3 I got far ish then forgot.
Warioware, yessssssss

It’s cool, I’m just gonna commit to not being into Pikmin. I don’t like strategy games. I’ve never played a Pokémon game as I’m not into RPGs….although I might give that Mario RPG remake a go since it’s Mario. Maybe. I’ll probably be playing Zelda TOTK for the next few years.

#4324 3 months ago

I have been enjoying ToK a lot and I can't believe they outdid BotW but here we are. I would say I am about 75% done with it. That said, Pikmin 1 & 2 completely derailed my progress this weekend I have always wanted to dig back into them since I originally owned the first one on GC, but never got into it. I beat Pikmin 1 over the weekend and I am working on 2 now. Just a delight and I am super excited for the next two. The QoL additions are nice as well.

Sooooo, if anybody wants to sell their copy of Pikmin 3 Deluxe, hmu

#4325 3 months ago

I'm excited about Super Mario Wonder. My daughter is very interested in playing as Daisy, her favorite Mario princess.

I wonder if there will be any unlockable playable characters. They have such a catalog of characters, it seems like they could have a much bigger roster of playable characters in a new 2D entry than they typically seem to have.

Hopefully you can pick your character and they aren't assigned to controller # like it's frustratingly done on Mario Maker.

Pikmin 4 demo is now available from the eShop.

Quoted from jedimastermatt:

Pikmin 4 demo is now available from the eShop.

I’ve played through it twice. First time I tried to collect as much as I could as I found it, but then the demo ended without me going to all caves. Second time I collected no shiny things and explorer everything.

I like the idea of pikmin but my first real entry was pikmin 3 and that game was pretty complex with multiple people you could control and I didn’t feel I loved the game, however pikmin 4 feels like the best pikmin. Having the dog to help, there are too many pikmin types but it makes it fun. I liked exploring the caves and trying to 100% them. The day light timer seems anxiety inducing but I just do only a few things each day and don’t worry about the timer. And I guess talking to others there is usually enough time anyway.

The only complaint is the amount of dialog and skipping only can do parts of it, however it does build a nice story.

Anyone else try it?

#4328 79 days ago

I haven't tried the demo but recently did a Pikmin 3 play through, just finished Pikmin 1 and am 35% though Pikmin 2 and this might be too much Pikmin.

Hopes are high for 4 because each one has very compelling features on their own but they also have flaws that feel like they overcompensate for the mistakes of the prior entry.

1/2 seem classic but hard? 3 from what I remember was the hardest/complex and 4 ya try the demo and let us know what you think. It feels like.... pikmin + open world (I know it isn't but it feels open with tons more options) very refreshing.

Anyone try the new Zen Pinball FX? Don’t bother. It sucks. Somehow the resolution is like 300p, when the last version (FX3) was nice and crisp. I had issues with FX3, but clarity wasn’t one of them. Unreal how Zen could release this new version in this condition. Shame.

bummer. I was holding off on buying the IJPA table until the new version came out. I know they moved to a new game engine for this one. hopefully the perf improves at some point.

It runs well on PC/PS5, seems like they didn’t bother optimizing on Switch at all - it’s Unreal Engine now, which is notorious for poor performance on Switch, even the couple times Nintendo used it, they struggled to get good frame rates (Yoshi’s Crafted World) - hopefully the next Switch can handle UE a little more efficiently.

I wonder why Nintendo used UE for Yoshi. Their own games have excellent engines with great performances. Why didn’t they use one of their own for Yoshi?

Not to mention having to re-buy every table you have owned previously at full price. Zen can eat a bag of dicks.

#4336 78 days ago

I tried this on the PS5 and it was unplayable, but worked on the Xbox. I grabbed a cheap series S and hooked it up to a permanently rotated TV and it plays pretty well. I didn't buy all the tables that I previously owned, but will probably grab them on sale. I also have a spare Switch dock hooked up to that TV for Pinball Arcade and the new Stern tables.

Xbox does seem to run UE software the best, maybe because it’s the most closely aligned with PC out of the bunch - I guess I’ll have to go back and play on PS5 again - I downloaded the stand alone Indy title only and felt like it ran well, but I didn’t try the base FX platform outside of PC.

Not sure, the Link’s Awakening remake is also UE4 and runs poorly - I’m sure there are a few others. I read an article once that said it’s faster for them to build on UE than whatever they usually do, but I would imagine they haven’t gone all-in on it because the games barely run

Link's Awakening is not UE4, that was only speculation prior to release.

Looking to sell some switch games I won't play again. All are in good shape, cib. Plus shipping. These should be pretty average prices but throw an offer. Shipping seems common in padded envelopes, however my tmnt came broken that way, so could be that vs the small usps box.

Binding of isaac afterbirth + - $40
aqua moto racing utopia - $10
Mortal Kombat 11 - $10
Rocket League CE - sold
Doom - $30
Super bomber man R - $20
Wonder boy: the dragons trap - $40
Zelda: links awakening - sold

I got the Links Awakening remake back upon release and the stuttering drove me nuts to the point I quit before solving the first dungeon.

Recently got back into it thanks to Switch emulation.. you still get a little stuttering at first as it builds the shader cache, but afterwards the game runs a rock-solid 60fps on ryujinx.

I finally got some time to play TOTK. Got off the original island and into the open world. I tend to take the quests that get me to sprawl, grabbing locations for fast travel as I go. Such a great game.

#4347 50 days ago

That weird blur and the stuttering really made Links Awakening hard to play. I powered through, I replayed the original and honestly enjoyed it more. I did love the way it looked but would have much prefered a bigger experience with that art style. The item switching was a god send.

Im kinda lost in this game. I dont feel like I know what I am doing other than scavenging and such. I have barely done any quests, lol. I still havent found Hestu either. I have like 80 korok seeds.

Been thinking about cracking open a game I havent yet. Maybe Huntdown?

Huntdown is amazing. Played through it several times at this point. TOTK is awesome too - focus on doing shrines. You get a nice sense of accomplishment from solving those and a good reward (health/stamina) that makes exploring a lot more efficient and fun.

#4350 45 days ago

I started playing TOTK this past weekend again but have put it back down for Baldur's Gate 3. I don't know if that will be coming to the switch eventually or not, but it's really good.
