Quoted from Aniraf:

Ghost Rider Grey is in full production! It is easiest to make them in batches, but I wanted to show everyone the progress!
Thank you so much for all of your interest! I cannot t wait for everyone to get these![quoted image]

Just thinking out loud, would it be possible to install the stock Stern supplied protector over the top of this ?

Have you explored this ?

Thanks,

I'm really happy that you have brought this product to the market, I believe there is potential in making an ever better solution, by incorporating it as a sort of base layer to a Cliffy.

I'm in no way saying that what you have is not going to work. I just believe that you've opened the door to a new way of resolving an issue, to that you have to be applauded.

I'll be ordering one as soon as you start to offer a solution for the Vuk hole ( hopefully you have any eye on that ), or now if not !

Brilliant, looking forward to watching things develop.

Is it possible to print an edging strip similar to this out of the same material the protector is made from ? Appreciate it would get mangled eventually, but would give the scoop edges a chance to soften ball impacts.

I've noticed a couple of VUK issues also, not as visible due to being out of the way but still of concern. Needs something doing in that area. Can't believe they didn't bevel it.

Quoted from PinBalt:

Perhaps a scoop sweater! Imagine a piece of this TPU material that goes around the backside of the front scoop and “clips” around the left and right edges with some overlap on the inner front of the scoop. I can sketch it out if you get what im thinking.

I had considered using heat shrink as a temporary measure until something is available ( it wouldn't last long granted ), silicone edging strip is available which would also be an option, the best would be as you describe. Hopefully these guys will find an answer.

Looks good, is there a reason you haven't covered this exposed edge, does the ball no longer make contact with it using this protector ?

Quoted from OutpostKodelia:

It's hard to see from the photo, but the round wall protection extends slightly up above the height of the wood ledge where it looks to be exposed, which protects from incoming ball impacts. When the ball rolls back and forth over the exposed looking area, it is suspended above the wood by the side guides all the way until it drops into the hole. The exposed area wasn't in the first draft of the product, but it was necessary for it to print well, so we took the above measures to ensure the ball still wasn't going to touch the wood.

I see now, this pic shows it is higher than the exposed edge, nice one

And a matching side scoop cover for the OCD brigade

Quoted from sudsy7:

It is reminiscent of a Soviet Cold War Era design to me. It's functional, but something that ugly should be on the underside of a playfield, not right in front of your flippers with bright lights shining on it. Borg would never say it out loud of course, but it has to piss him off a little that they stuck that thing on his scoop, totally upsetting his game design flow and aesthetics. The topper is that they marched him out there to show us how to install it in an instructional video! Gotta wonder how that conversation went before he finally caved. Must have been his turn in the barrel I guess.
Oh well, doesn't matter, Ninja saved the day on this one and now we can play the game as originally designed without staring at the eyesore in the middle of the playfield.

It probably went along the lines of " your mess, you sort it, and don't do it again " !!

Thanks for all your ingenuity and help in resolving these issues. Just ordered the lot.

"stage left " would fit on there quite nicely

#215 2 years ago
Quoted from RobF:

Should we argue that this is technically stage right?
...and there goes your love for the internet. haha

Technically, the ball exits the loop stage left

Quoted from RobF:

I'd buy that for a dollar!

Sold !!

Quoted from OutpostKodelia:

When we're ready to sell it, you'll be able to do the whole thing plug and play, just turning some screws, routing some wires, and plugging some plugs.

Will it integrate with any other previously installed kit ie: Doug's ?
