Looking forward to your inner loop guide - I’ve been struggling with mine since day 1.

Smart mod idea - easily going to be over $100, but it actually adds something of value to the game. Well done.

Received my inner loop guide today - sadly it didn’t work for me. Took off the felt (which was working 100% of the time) and Installed the guide and had 0 registered for 9 shots. Put the felt back on and took off the guide and was back at 100%. Put the guide back in along with the felt and was also at 100%. Oh well, It’s an air factor I think - not a right side lean. Ball just goes so fast it must go over the target a tad too much. Would love to get a plastic lane cover like another member made for his - that would fix the issue I am having.

#225 2 years ago

Thank you! You don’t know unless you try, so no regrets with the guide. Fellow member schudel5 made this cover and said it works great. I’d be more than happy to buy one from you if you make can something similar.

Quoted from Aniraf:

I'm with OutpostKodelia on this in that we did test the hell out of it, but there are SO MANY factors in pinball. It is a bit exhausting to try and create perfect solutions. That said, if you happen to have the ability to take some slo-mo video I would love to see it! In our testing it almost always pushed the ball right over that switch regardless of the speed and height. I wonder if your machine has different enough geometry or flipper power that it can still get by and fail to register.
Also I'm happy to do a return if you wish. I'd rather have someone who is pleased with what they bought than lamenting the waste of money . As you can all tell, that isn't our game here. We love pinball too much to try and make a quick score.

As I said, you don’t know unless you try. I have no regrets buying it whatsoever. $20 into a 12k machine is nothing and it ruled out one of the possible issues. I can try to take a slow mo video with my iPhone when I have a buddy over and see if I can capture the path it’s taking. my best guess is that the felt pad is keeping the ball lower so it hits the switch 100%. If you say the ball leans right and this guide keeps it centered than it is more assuring having both (just like you stated in your add). I have no intentions on returning it as I appreciate what you guys are doing.

The inner loop mod, sadly, didn't work for me either. I've seen this in other pins, where the ball travels so fast, it doesn't trip the switch. Going to try and make the plastic cover to see if it's coming off the playfield enough to not trip the switch.

It has to be an airborne factor. If the felt works, that means its kicking the ball back down enough to activate the switch. I'm going to try and get a lane cover made or buy one somehow.

Quoted from oliviarium:

John-Floyd , spandol -- we have another fix we'd like you to try, in conjunction with the existing loop fix, if you don't mind. We are producing it now and will send you each one (no cost obviously) on Friday when our next batch of shipments goes out. We'd love to hear if improves the accuracy of the loop shot getting counted for you.

Wow that’s going well above and beyond - nothing else to say but a huge thank you! Looking forward to it, and will let you know how it works out. Appreciate it!

Quoted from spandol:

I’d be interested in the inner loop lights mod too, just to put my name in the hat.

same here - with the service and dedication to this game you are giving, count me in on this mod as well.

Also ordered - this is a great one! Well done

#280 1 year ago

Love the ambition, but this one doesn’t work for me. Between this and the current dice, I like the dice a lot more. This Looks out of place.

#283 1 year ago
Quoted from OutpostKodelia:

Not gonna lie... I'm not personally into the goofier mods people are developing, and this is definitely one of them, so I get what you're saying. I would totally prefer a dice version of this, and for our personal game I may make one. But for sales purposes, it feels shady to go after the other dice mods. Maybe I'm being overly concerned about that, I dunno. Anyways, thanks for the feedback... Any thoughts on other ideas for what could take their place?

That’s a tough one as I’m very picky on what I add to my games and I think a some of the mods being done are quite cheesy and look terrible. Besides the dice, I’m clueless on what would fit in well there. I’ve cracked 2 so far, so I bought the dice and will be happy when they arrive. Classy move for not wanting to go the dice route and tread on what’s already being sold by others. Hopefully someone will chime in with another option.

Here is what was sent to me from the great team at Ninja mods. I cut it in half as the ball was getting stuck every time. This is helping, but I still have some tweaking to do to have it work as well as the felt did. I’m my instance, The felt fix was working 100% of the time when I had it on the top of steel rail just below the plastics. The felt is a little bit thicker, but was way up high on the rail so it would not obstruct the balls rolling path - I think it would just knock it down when it gets air. This looks way cleaner and once tweaked should work well. Trimming it just a tad more should do the trick (I hope) Thanks again!

So my time machine ramp rubber blocks need replacing and I’m prob going to go the ninja route. Read the directions - Why do you need to take the ramp off to install these? Seems like it should be able to be done on the playfield, no?

#323 1 year ago

Love the color options - I haven’t pulled the trigger yet as my scoop is still holding up pretty well, but I’m liking the green! Prob will go with that color when I need one. Great stuff guys.

All I can say is great job guys - I really like the ESL and it looks outstanding. I freyed the black cable cover pushing it through the playfield/plastic so it could look cleaner, but I’ll address that down the road. Now you can see where the action is!
And I did notice two additional printed strips in my order - are these new updates for the inner loop guides?! Thank you!

So I currently have the stern black rubber fix on the scoop and I have my Ninja Mods protector ready to install. I'm getting cold feat and worry it is outside of my wheelhouse for install. How tough is it and how long should it take? The last thing I want to do is F this up....

Please help - I’m Towards the end of the install and I forgot where those 2 black spacers go…. Anyone have a pic?

#777 1 year ago
Quoted from OutpostKodelia:

What they said. It's not technically challenging, just removing and reinstalling screws and nuts and the like. As to time, I can do it in about 15-20m, but I'm a pinball mechanic and I've installed and uninstalled these about 20 times throughout the development cycle and on friends' machines, so my time is probably on the quicker side of things. For most people it's 40m or so, though someone claimed it took them nearly 2h. If you haven't already done so, check out the instructions first to see what you're in for. http://mjf.me/pinball/Instructions.html

Took me about an hour but it appears to be installed properly. Everything is working but now I’m getting a lot of STDM from the bottom scoop. Is there a tweak on Rush to fix this like on GNR?

Tried that and there isn’t much play. It’s stdm every time now.
Update- reset everything under the playfield and with a few tweaks it now lets hits the right flipper every time. Very happy to be back to the way this game was originally intended. Sterns V3 was far too intrusive.

Quoted from northvibe:

mine is doing this. ninjacamp 3d print scoop protector w/ stern fork on.
So just loosen it all up, reseat it and try again? Almost seems like a part of the protector that wraps under the pf, the ball hits on the way out? as different ejects look slow vs others. I'll have to check the plunger too

I also added a washer underneath to angle it better when I reseated it (also giving it a little twist as I retightened) which seemed to have solved it once and for all.
