I'm in too! Nine Ball is one of my favorites as well, my favorite spinner shot in all of pinball. Love the feel of ripping the spinner at the same time banking into a ball lock. Count me in for a playfield if they are made.

A nice picture old / new...

Looks beautiful! Any chance you had that NOS playfield scanned before installing?

I think you just have to lock a second ball before progressing to the #8 drop target.

Any advice on fixing/upgrading the 12-lamp grids near the drop target banks?

there was a guy in the Big Game thread that had PCBs made up for the grids in Big Game. He mentioned that the guy who made them might consider making them for nine ball as well.

Quoted from frunch:

a number of folks in the Big Game thread expressed interest in seeing if the same company can make lamp boards for Nine Ball as well

I was one of them. I was going to contact them about Nine Ball, but with the Holidays, i got busy and then forgot. That would be great if you would contact them. Count me in for a set.

I'm also wondering if Meteor uses the same grids--can anyone tell me whether or not that's the case?

Meteor does not use them. it uses strips...

Drop target assembly done!

Wow, looks amazing! are the parts all original? most of the 'fingers' that hold the drop targets up on mine are bent significantly.

There is an aftermarket rom that you can burn that supposedly makes the game a lot more interesting and problem free

Mayfair Amusements at the York show had about 10 of the drop targets, labelled as Chicago Coin drops. They were $20 each.
