I think the code updates mentioned here were by me. I spent a lot of time reworking how the drop target switches were handled, and how the trough was dealt with for multiball. That image was taken and tweaked by Oliver I think, although I never tested his version.

I changed some of the rules, although other Nineball fans weren't always in agreement to the rule changes I'd make. I also changed some of the more repetitive sound effects (the 77K award comes to mind) to not be as annoying.

I still have the work I did and my notes somewhere.

Nineball is one of my favorite classic Sterns, and the switch handling in it was not as robust as it could be.

I did some of the Nineball rework a few years ago, fixing the trough and drop switch logic. Is anyone using that code today?

I'd like to find a nicer example. My nineball has playfield wear. Repro playfields soon?

Quoted from dothedoo:

Send me a copy please, I'd love to put it to use.

Looks like Oliver extended what I did and reworked it more.

At one point I was making rule changes too. Some good, some not so good. I'll have to find that code again.

The factory code has no option for free play, unfortunately.

I did a rework of the code years ago, fixing some bugs with drop target and trough switch handling. I also removed the coin routines and made it free play only.

Oliver took my version and modified it more, although his requires a hardware adapter to fit the larger rom on a MPU-200.

I'm in for 2 sets.

Ordered 2 sets. Thanks!

If someone is itching to get one, I would "loan" my second set as long as when the next batch comes in it gets replaced. I don't need two immediately.

LMK.

I have a used spare one I'd sell. Make me a offer.
