Just a quick topic to show off my restorations/rejuvenations/paintings/mod creations

I do stuff for myself or friends, on lost time

Let’s start with a quick view on my T2 which I modded quite a bit, though none of theye were created by me.
If you’re in Switzerland or nearby, I’m open for a trade for it.

Lamp from the arabian nights for a friend, did not do much; added painted jewels and some effect to age it.

Congo Amy ramp (with translucent eyes for the flasher behind) And the volcano.
Transparency on the volcano is gone, kept only on the bottom where there is the decal.

What mods do you do for jurassic park?

#5 5 years ago

None so far, I am just showing off my work
And as I don’t own a JP and nor do any friend, I did no try anything with it yet.

I am currently restoring my Swords of Fury, repainting the LoTR figs for a friend and creating mods for my Dr Who which I also want to restore

Ain’t selling anything as well, I usually spend hours painting so it would not be a viable business model.
Just wanted to share, give idea, take ideas...

Thanks for the feedback

That’s a nice mod!
Regarding the painting: it’s quite nice already. Maybe your friend could add some shadows in the steps? and buy some fake grass like the one below and you get something very nice!

https://www.amazon.com/Games-Workshop-Citadel-Grass-Basing/dp/B008ACCAGC

Below are some pics of the temple from the Indiana Jones that I repainted for a friend, as an example on what can be done with these kind of techniques coming from miniatures painting.

Beautiful work. You’re very talented. Thanks for sharing.

Can you give me some info on the LED"s you've used? Just got my T2 and want to jazz it up a bit, but I don't know qty's, locations, sizes , etc. I think they're all either 555's or 44/47's but with the switch over to LED's, what should I use?

I just rather not pay the high fee ($150-170) for an LED "kit"

Any info is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

#12 5 years ago

As I am in Europe for the T2 I used leds from ministry of pinball. But you can go with comet, they’re pretty nice as well.

With modern leds that have no flickering and no ghosting you can just swap them one for one.

As the T2 is prone to this kind of lighting, I just went all out:
- clear rubbers everywhere
- clear posts
- no frosted leds, only superbrights, mainly blue and cold white
- added a blue led strip at the end
- lighted buttons and speakers from pinbal life

For what you need to order; only two ways:
- find the list on the net from someone who took the time to do it (did not )
- just open it and count

Most GIs (except backbox) are 44
Most CPU controlled are wedge, but a few will be 44

Always order a few more of each, just in case you prefer it or miscalculated

Take the ramps and plastics out to count, Much easier anyway to install everything afterwards that way.

Great info none the less thank you !!

Speaking of LEDs, my second System1 « rejuvenation ».
Full LED, brand new NOS plastics, and a Lisy 1 motherboard running on a Pi, thus the long boot.
Had to repaint part of the playfield and backglass.

Do you have any pics of the LOTR stuff?

A few so far.
Nothing very exciting, figures’ quality is low so I can not repaint everything and can only try to improve them a bit

Those look cool to me!

Where brand are those figures?

Are you selling them?

#19 5 years ago

So the brand is "Play along"; I'm not selling them, they're not mine
They came with a friend's #LOTR . I am just improving their paint.

You can find them on ebay for cheap

Got a TFTC with the originsl topper and coul not resist to try my brand new airbrush and pimp it.
Quite happy with the result for a first airbrush try.

I also added some LEDs.

Finished restoring my Farfalla.
Some will say it is a rainbow puke, but as the whole game is a rainbow puke anyway, I went all in for it.

When there is stuff in a pin I can repaint to improve it, I do so.
Here are a few examples:

Neat to see your custom headstone paint!

Will just note that the torches are currently on the wrong sides. They were designed to fit cleanly over the bats and they don't fit as well the other way around (seems you're not having an issue, and if they aren't falling out in that configuration, I doubt anyone else would know the difference).

Shoot thanks for the tip! Will move them next time I have to remove the glass
