I have the same exact problem with my Raven machine. Did you manage to find a solution to this in the end?

That was the first thing i thought. I have changed the battery (even though the first one check out fine) but the problem still persists. A bit of research lead me to the 55101-L RAM chip, but the original poster said that this didn't work for him.
I just replaced my 55101-L ram chip on my raven and it no longer comes up with 666 - 88,888,880 anymore, but now it wont hold any scores and you have to enter your initials every time you play (for the first five times). When you turn the machine on and off, all the scores are reset again.
I know the battery is good though as i just put in a new one.
If you have any progress on this, please let me know.
