Really enjoying the spirit of this thread having recently got my first EM. The Magic Brush has arrived in England

    Quoted from NicoVolta:

Howdy pardner! Here’s one of those cool 60’s Bally zipper-flippers you don’t see every day… a 1967 Bally Dogies.

Did all Ballys of that era have the lime green apron & metalwork? Have only recently seen it on Rocket III, Cosmos, Bowl-O now Dogies...

    Quoted from Ballypin:

I am curious if any other Bally titles (besides Surfers that I am restoring) have a lighted credit insert in the apron.

Like this on Rocket III? It's one of the last features I have left to fix, the lamp and holder is good but it doesn't light when I have Replays on the stepper. I assume it's just wired to one of the leaf switches that closes when the Replays are > 1 but I cant find this lamp at all on the schematic.

The card says 5NP for 2 games which is pretty cheap these days, I still start it now with some old 5 New Ps!

I'm finding my magic brush easier to use now the tip is getting a bit gnarly. I swab in with a Q-tip then use that to keep the switch open whilst magic brushing then swab out whilst removing the Q-tip. The Novus #1 cap is just right for holding some alcohol.

This is how we roll in the old country

Some of the barrel cleaning kits come with brass, nylon and mop brushes. That seems like a good option to work down depending on the level of crud you're starting with. Then just buzz them with the nylon brush and mop/IPA every so often.

On the Bally ones I like re-using old rings around them (an idea I saw in another thread), defo gives the female clip a bit more snap.

Hey, Nic this thread has introduced me to maker/hack spaces - I'd never heard of them and we have loads in the UK, my local group meets a few mins walk from my back gate.

    Quoted from PoBoyPinball:

So nicovolta my pinball Jedi EM training has served me well. And to all did you know your front load washing machine has pinball technology in it? So after some good old Google searching I found my issue and with the help of the magic brush and some points adjustments (applying my training) my washer is fixed.

That made me laugh, I was using my dremel sabre to clean switch contacts on my dishwasher. Not fixed yet but we await our jedi training in Europe.

    Quoted from NicoVolta:

ALL OF Y'ALL should go and scout your local Makerspace and inquire about pinball. Homework assignment!

Homework complete here. My local Makerspace has literally just moved into their own workshop. They're building Daleks but interested in my pinball projects

Great watch and learned a lot, funny that one of the switches had no wires attached
