    Quoted from Insane:

Don't forget the dark green ones. we had a couple of those.

I think "Avocado Green" is the appropriate description.

I think it would be cool to have Nic give out some "awards" after he is done with the tour. All in the name of fun, of course.

    Hardest place to find
    Coolest dog/cat
    Best meal(s)
    Likeliest place to see Bigfoot
First place I would like to revisit
    Best sleeping quarters
    Toughest fix
    Easiest fix
    Coolest machine worked on
    Hottest wife

(Okay, not really the last one, but you get the idea.)

    #188 7 years ago

It's wasn't meant to be a complete list.

    Quoted from NicoVolta:

... except acorn post nuts. The media will get trapped inside. Better to replace with new.

I use a buffer from HF. "Screw" the nut onto a post and buff away. I can get through 2-3 per minute and they shine like there is no tomorrow.

    Quoted from NicoVolta:

EM's the thing! But if someone has a SS nearby needing a quick glance (no board work/matrix debugging), who am I to say no?

I'm not saying you did it, but Jeff is still looking for his missing money.

    Quoted from Matesamo:

I also changed the post caps in Grand Prix from the plastics ones to the polished chrome

    Quoted from pinheadpierre:

Artichokes are a thistle flower (read: weed).

    Can you smoke it?

Is it just me, or has Captain Fantastic been strangely missing since it was first seen regularly at the beginning of the tour?

    #670 6 years ago
    Quoted from dendoc:

I heard you talking about you "tour of Europe" on the podcast. You need to aim for a tour of Australia! Plenty of em's downhere that need loving

Except doesn't the score motor spin in the opposite direction down there? That complicates things.

I had never imagined a topper for Argosy, but darn it, after seeing this one is there anything better?

    Quoted from NicoVolta:

And now, at last, we shall cover in painstaking detail the “tip solder fix”.

I also like to put some flux on the bare metal before soldering to help the solder stick. Just like Brylcreem--a little dab'll do ya. It helps complement my inferior soldering skills.

    Quoted from Darcy:

That is a slug. If you live in the Pacific Nortwest and B.C. it is called a pest, especially if you have a garden. The slugs can destroy vegetables, and flowers fairly easily.

The best way I found to get rid of slugs is to use beer traps. The problem with this solution is the more beer you use for slugs, the less beer there is for you.

    #827 6 years ago
    Quoted from NicoVolta:

    That's what PBR is for!

But my slugs only like the good stuff.

Not trying to derail this thread, but I wonder what Nic's up to?

What? No EM challenge? My guess is maybe Molly did some ass-kicking????

    Quoted from NicoVolta:

Let’s try something new… relay grommets! You won’t see these referenced on the official Gottlieb part list for rebuilding chimes, but that doesn’t matter. They work. Part# is GTB-A5240.

I have been using these lately:

Chime grommets are $.82/each. Door silencers are $.14/each.

The wheels were really coming off the wagon by the time New Stars Phoenix was released.

One of her legs came off as well.

Perhaps we need to assemble three stepper assemblies and run them non-stop as a test case for Super Lube, Finish Line, and Break-Free...

    And place bets....

    Quoted from NicoVolta:

In the meantime, if you're looking for a Christmas gift for a pinball buddy... the Pincaddy 2 is a good choice.

No cup holder for my Jack and Coke? Sorry, I'm out.

    Quoted from bingopodcast:

Squeeze the sides to give a little more pinch upon insertion.

Threw the softball out there and no one took a swing?? Tsk.

    Quoted from SuperDaveOsbourn:

Your prediction is based on what evidence?

    Quoted from NicoVolta:

Thanks everyone, truly! I've been sleeping a lot and relaxing... just taking my time filtering my thoughts and slowly getting organized for a move sometime next spring. I love the PNW (in summer), but most likely I will be heading to southern California. I have family and friends there and proximity to many of the things I enjoy.

All you people and your horrible weather and high taxes. I’m barely over two hours from the beach in San Diego and it hasn’t snowed here since the last ice age.

    How are your scorpions?

(Man, those things give me the willies...)

    Quoted from NicoVolta:

Also, it's cool when peeps from the tour/Pinside/community stop by to say hello, like this fella today (James Hudson)!

Is it just me, or does James look like a young Mike Pacak w/o hair.....?

    Just me? Okay, move along.

    Quoted from NicoVolta:

A good opportunity for color-changing LED’s! It’s what Norm would have wanted...

I actually spoke to Norm about this at Expo one year, and he was vehemently against any LEDs in pinball machines. **
