I have both just got NGG in the house. What’s the better machine?

Road show has better mechs and rules. Also more fun. Neither are awesome

NGG is so much better than RS but that's not saying much. RS is just not a fun game for me.

RS has more going on. NGG is kinda just rinse and repeat with the multiball. That being said NGG has the hole in one shot, which is one of the coolest and most satisfying shots in pinball. I’d go with RS as a keeper in a smaller collection and NGG is good in larger collections or to play causally (dollar games for most hole in ones!)

I’m playing NGG and for the price not sure it’s better that RS. Both pat lawlor and while the theme is different I’m not sure which I like more...

The multiball music in Roadshow makes me want to rip my ears off. NGG all the way for me.

New code on roadshow makes it a blast!

RS vs NGG? Really? No contest! NGG is insanely fun to play. The guitar themes in NGG are awesome. I never get tired of them. The super jackpot is the best one I have ever seen and extremely hard to get. Rinse and Repeat? No Way! The noises that game makes are hilarious.
Had both, the RS has been gone a long time ago. The theme put me to sleep.
If I want a weird Head fix Ill play Funhouse.

I’ve owned both and I enjoy both. I would pick RS over NGG, especially with the new code.

Both games are just OK for me. I would give RS the slight edge.

NGG is a grind.

The RS callouts grate on me after a while.

Between the two, RS had a lot more to do, and greater variety of shots and modes.

I haven't had an opportunity to play one with the modified code on it. At a glance, the changes look good.

Soundtrack and call outs do wear on me with RS - I cranked up the sound on NGG had some pretty fun games on it last night. I do like the layout of RS but Im starting to get more in to NGG the more Im playing it.

Still think this is an interesting comparison looks like we are head to head in comments maybe with slight edge for RS

Now ad color DMD, Prosound and a Polk Audio PSW-10 sub (plug and play) and have one of the best pinball experiences when you rock the house with that NGG!

Road Show with a PinSound board is awesome. I replaced a lot of the music in RS with high energy rock - Alice Cooper, Motley Crue, Van Halen, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Kenny Wayne Sheperd, The Cars. The music is what held RS back for long term ownership for me. IMO the original music is cool/novel for a while, but if your not into country it gets old.

Never thought to hook up a Polk sub to NGG. Is it really much better? I have a couple Polks laying around, maybe I'll have to try it.

Out of all my games, NGG has by far, the most satisfying jackpot/superjackpot shots. It's never a grind. Straight forward rules and trying to beat my old score will keep this in the collection forever. It really is fun, the different ways to feed the ball to the upper flipper for that jackpot shot while keeping other balls in play.

I think the heads on Road Show playfield have a creep factor that’s not supposed to be creepy like Rudy was supposed to be creepy in Funhouse. They just look weird. It just seems like Road Show was an attempt to capitalize on the success of Funhouse and failed to do so in the way that was intended. For that, I vote for NGG

Never thought about it that way but you are right. Roadshow feels like someone else besides Lawlor designed it and raided the parts bin at B/W. Things just don't feel like they were designed with much purpose. It's still decent fun to play but can be extremely annoying. NGG has better theme integration and a lot more fun imo.

Oh yes! All the explosions just rock the house!

I prefer NGG.

Can someone ask that fella to do some code updates for NGG!
I love the game. Roadshow has so much stuff but just isn't that much fun. Like demo man and judge dread, I wanted to like it but can't.

I like Roadshow but hate country music. Funny thing about that game is I have one that I bought 5+ years ago and it's still sitting wrapped up. Paid 800 bucks and it needs a full shopping and some board work. If I do get around to working on it I think a pinsound with custom music and that new code could really help the game. Have the modes randomly jump around the country is awesome. No more blowing up the port a potty as the first mission.
