    Quoted from bboy123:

The Grateful Dead would be amazing. So much great material and artwork galore. Back in the 60's the dead would play so long that the venue would pull the plug on them so Wizard Mode would involve all the lights going out and a non amplified version of whatever song was playing. The modes would be to play thru the 4 decades that the Dead played thru. I've already warned my wife if it happens I'm all in for the LE model!

This would literally be the only band related title I'd consider. Not only have they been around for 50+ years, they still sell out stadiums. Bring Stanley Mouse on board to do the artwork, and the possibilities are limitless.

    Quoted from Duff:

I would be in, if done right. Always thought a rethemed Roadshow would be a great platform to make a one off custom GD pin. Not sure what to do with Red and Ted, but the traveling the country chasing shows would be a great fit.

That has potential. I'd rather see an original table though. You could have all sorts of cool gimmicks....

    - The Dark Star multiball where all of the GI goes out and the game is lit with blacklight (and glowing balls)
    - The "Wishing well with a golden bell" hole.
    - The Golden Road to Unlimited Devotion (say, a mini playfield that can only be accessed in a certain mode)
    - The "Phil Zone" with subwoofers and shakers ablaze
    - The "miracle ticket" ball save
    - A JJP style led "backglass" that can play video clips and the like, but otherwise shows the "lava lamp" effect that they used in early shows.
    - a "pigpen" mode
    - The "Ship of Fools" playfield toy
    - Collect up all of the members of the band for an "Uncle John's Band" mode
    - The "Let it Grow" jackpot mode

    The possibilities are literally limitless.

and I like your idea of touring... you could stack up cities a bit like an Addams Family mansion tour.

    Quoted from hawkmoon:

OK,children, what band did the very first rock,"video"? What band still sparks controversy? You know them, you love them, ladies and gentlemen,THE BEATLES !!!

Elvis was performing on Ed Sullivan while the Beatles were still in grade school.

    #154 7 years ago

With some of the bands you guys are suggesting, I'm not sure if you're really serious or making a joke.

    #166 7 years ago
    Quoted from Jimmyd044:

The most deserving band for a pin would be the Ramones.

Not sure if serious. I doubt it would sell more than a handful of copies. I mean, it's not embarassing to admit you'd been a fan of them like they were Huey Lewis, Rush, Ratt, or somesuch, but even at their peak, they really weren't all that popular.

Rather than dedicated pins for 80s bands that no one cares about, maybe a collection game of 1 hit wonders would be more in order...

    #170 7 years ago
    Quoted from Jimmyd044:

The bottom line is the Ramones were the most influential bands in the last 50 years.

I vehemently and wholeheartedly disagree. They were kitschy, and fun and all of that, but in the big picture, there were literally dozens of bands who were more important and influential. They just weren't that important in the big picture.

    #172 7 years ago
    Quoted from o-din:

Except for Elvis and the Stones, the Ramones were way more important in the big picture than any of the other rock bands that have their own pinball machine so far. And most of the others people are asking for. Except maybe Thin Lizzy...

I agree that most of the bands who have has pins made were pretty awful. I disagree that the Ramones are so influential.

    #175 7 years ago
    Quoted from o-din:

Well, everybody is entitled to their opinion. The Ramones pretty much influenced every punk rock band that came after them. The Sex Pistols wouldn't have even existed if not for the Ramones.

NY Dolls, the Stooges, Devo, etc...all preceded the Ramones and were at least equally influential.

    #178 7 years ago
    Quoted from Duff:

Endless possibilities but there can't be any Donna anywhere..

No, no... when you lose a ball, or lose a multiball without a jackpot, you could be subjected to her out of tune caturwauling!

    #188 7 years ago
    Quoted from SuS:

    Bruce Springsteen.

    YES!

I can see the features now:

    - The Mush Mouth multiball
    - Do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do mode
    - The fake working man multiball
    - Around the holidays, the special "horrible Christmas music" mode will be activated.
    - "Mumble mumble New Jersey" mode.
    - The "outrageous hypocrite" mode
    etc. etc.

Of course, it will cost $4 a game. $3.90 of that will go to Bruce, and the other $.10 gets divided up between all of the other members of the band.

Edit: And there's no way to set the game to free play.

    #192 7 years ago
    Quoted from vid1900:

Don't forget the early "I want to be Bob Dylan" mode.

Of course! I also forgot "Fake Patriot" and "Yoko isn't the only untalented wife" modes.

    Quoted from pezpunk:

The Ramones were probably the most influential band of the last 40 years.

You're entitled to be as wrong as you want to be.

Either way, if they sold pins proportional to the number of albums they sold, it would be a massive money loser for Stern. Of course, almost all of the bands people have talked about in this thread aren't "worthy" of a pin.

    #203 7 years ago
    Quoted from nman:

If we're betting on influential, how about Chuck Berry? It could even have a Ding-a-ling bash toy. Anyone?

Makes a lot more sense than most of the bands listed in this thread. Biggest problem with it is that his hits were 50+ years ago. Not a way to encourage younger people to get into the hobby.

    #215 7 years ago
    Quoted from Sliderpoint:

Maybe I missed one, but how did this thread go for so long with this being the first mention of Zeppelin?

I like them, but they stole far more music than they created on their own... (and stole almost all of the stuff you'd know from the radio).

    #222 7 years ago
    Quoted from Pinplayer1967:

They sell out arenas till this day worldwide.

Seriously? I haven't known anyone who was a fan since the early 80s.

    Quoted from Roostking:

This is July 4th Not April 1st. Iron Maiden is indeed selling out shows BIG shows, worldwide, yes even stateside.
    Up the Irons!

I wasn't making a joke. It's been at least 25 years since I've known anyone who listened to Iron Maiden-- and he smelled a little funny and lived in the basement next to the hot water heater.

20+ years ago, I was the program director at the only hard rock & metal station in town. We played Metallica. We played Pantera. We played Deep Purple. We played Sabbath, Judas Priest, and all of the other classics. We didn't have a single Iron Maiden recording in the building-- they were considered corny and outdated even back then.

    Quoted from whitey:

GNR ! Bands back together ? Guys are paying crazy money for nice ones ? Slash loves pinball
    Better yet , GNRR !

Another band that hasn't been relevant in decades.

    #246 7 years ago
    Quoted from jackofdiamonds:

    You mean like Ghostbusters

I don't disagree, but that movie is culturally iconic. People who still profess to be GNR fans are generally laughed at and seen as wierdos.

    #266 7 years ago
    Quoted from Jaybird815:

I agree, but with Kiss there was a built in "Army" to market to. Aerosmith just doesn't seem to have that rabid fan base that Kiss does, IMO.

I can't stand Aerosmith, I absolutely loathe Kiss... but you can't possibly be suggesting that the Ramones, Iron Maiden, Guns and Roses, or any of the plethora of other bands mentioned in this thread have more selling power than Aerosmith or Kiss.

    #278 7 years ago
    Quoted from PinballManiac40:

    Because of one song?

Two... everyone remembers Radar Love, but forgets their other hit:
