I'm hoping for The Who or a Jimmy Buffett machine.
Quoted from Psw757:I'm hoping for The Who or a Jimmy Buffett machine.
Yessssss!!!!!!!!
Quoted from bboy123:The Grateful Dead would be amazing. So much great material and artwork galore. Back in the 60's the dead would play so long that the venue would pull the plug on them so Wizard Mode would involve all the lights going out and a non amplified version of whatever song was playing. The modes would be to play thru the 4 decades that the Dead played thru. I've already warned my wife if it happens I'm all in for the LE model!
The Greatful Dead would be a great choice for a LCD with psychedelic art and classic music
...but I wonder how many people alive today could name 12 of their songs without Googling them?
Best band at 2016 SXSW, A Giant Dog:
Great Thin Lizzy groove.....can't remember the last time I heard a bass player that was not just playing whole notes.
Quoted from BanditBen:Looks like Stern has had pretty good success of late with some of their Rock music themed games
Until...people decide not to buy it.
Quoted from jimbo16:I'm kind of new to this hobby, but has anyone ever talked about, thought about or otherwise mentioned a pin based off the movie Heavy Metal? I bet it would make a awesome pin. It's got to have happened right? Seems like a no brainer.
People have mentioned it many times.
Everyone was worried about all the permissions required from a bunch of artists who are most likely not on the same label anymore.
When Stern did all the different artists on Mustang, they were all from one label.
The home video version of Heavy Metal was delayed for years as the lawyers battled to re-secure all the songs.
The Black Sabbath "Mob Rules" was a weird version just for the soundtrack.
Quoted from jimbo16:Seems like a no brainer.
It would have to get in line behind all the other no brain themes of late.
Quoted from vid1900:The Black Sabbath "Mob Rules" was a weird version just for the soundtrack.
In fact, it appears that the soundtrack version of Mob Rules has been scrubbed completely from Youtube.
Even the little video clip from the movie is incomplete.
Odd, because every other song from the movie is available.
The only soundtrack version I could find anywhere:
Another great animated film would be Rock & Rule.
It's Canadian, so you get a combo of Furries and Tron.
All your favorite rock stars from the 70-80s:
Deborah Harry – "Angel's Song" / "Invocation Song"
Cheap Trick – "Born to Raise Hell" / "I'm the Man" / "Ohm Sweet Ohm"
Lou Reed – "My Name Is Mok" / "Triumph"
Earth Wind & Fire – "Dance Dance Dance" / Percussion – Paulinho Da Costa
Melleny Brown – "Hot Dogs and Sushi"
Iggy Pop – "Pain & Suffering"
Deborah Harry and Robin Zander – "Send Love Through"
Here is the entire movie, watch it before Youtube takes it down:
Quoted from thedefog:You could have a spiral ramp shaped like a DEVO hat (energy dome).
Are we not men?
No. We are beasts.
Seriously though my suggestion for a music-themed pin is Parliament/Funkadelic. Especially if they go with stereo with a sub woofer from hell (P-funk DEMANDS deep bass!), a mother ship toy that raises/lowers, and Dr. Funkeinstein/SirNoseD'voidofFunk figures for the win. Killer music and and if it's done right a sound & light show for the ages. Despite George Clinton's troubles with regaining control of his music I doubt licensing would be a major problem. This game could draw in not only R&B fans but given the bands' popularity in Europe and Asia...it has great potential. Just my two cents.

That's why kids don't listen to rock music any more.
Quoted from Lethal_Inc:WTF happened to his leg?
He broke his leg while in rehearsals.
“This is what can happen when you do something you haven’t done in nearly over 23 years,” he said.
I would love one based on the heavy metal movie, but yeah it would probably be hard to get the rights to all of that. I'm actually kind of surprised that there hasn't been one based on some kind of electronica yet. Especially if they are trying to break into the younger market. Something like Skrillex, Tiesto, or Deadmau5. Tron counts in the genre I suppose.
Something in the punk genre would be nice. Misfits, Ramones, Clash, Sex Pistols, or something like that.
If I could have my own choice I'd love something a little more out there. Nightwish, Babymetal, or Celldweller, would be good and I'd love to see the theme on any of those three. But the general population would have no idea about any of those bands.
A few years back, I tried to get people interested in a "blank" music pin that you would make it any band you want:

Why the hell is Brent Spiner (Data) in that commercial?
Quoted from jpc211245:Instead of the movie Heavy Metal for the next music pin lets up the ante and go for Heavy Metal Parking Lot.
If you have never seen it please do yourself a favor and imagine
Wow, all the kids were so skinny back in 1986!
I saw Fleshgod Apocalypse last year and the average weight of an audience member was like 250lbs.

Man, I'd love that! Would love U2, Pink Floyd and some many others that I'm guessing Stern probably won't ever make.
Well Mr Borg is up next in the rotation (late summer) so hopefully we will see a new ROCK title from him. Will it have 3 flippers this time? I hope so....

I'm not sure about 3 flippers, but you will certainly be Livin' on the Edge of the playfield... and Crazzzy multiball, It's AMAZINNNNN.... Imagine how much these weigh you might need an ELEVATORRRR... Livin' it up while your going down your basement. DUDE looks like I know what the next music pin is... some will WALK THIS WAY and get in line for one....
While others just want JAWS.

This would literally be the only band related title I'd consider. Not only have they been around for 50+ years, they still sell out stadiums. Bring Stanley Mouse on board to do the artwork, and the possibilities are limitless.

I would be in, if done right. Always thought a rethemed Roadshow would be a great platform to make a one off custom GD pin. Not sure what to do with Red and Ted, but the traveling the country chasing shows would be a great fit.
Far-out concept: a pin for Steeleye Span (medieval folk rock) based around the Canterbury Tales. It's part adventure, part comedy, with plenty of room for great music and art. Puff, puff, pass...
Quoted from Duff:I would be in, if done right. Always thought a rethemed Roadshow would be a great platform to make a one off custom GD pin. Not sure what to do with Red and Ted, but the traveling the country chasing shows would be a great fit.
That has potential. I'd rather see an original table though. You could have all sorts of cool gimmicks....
- The Dark Star multiball where all of the GI goes out and the game is lit with blacklight (and glowing balls)
- The "Wishing well with a golden bell" hole.
- The Golden Road to Unlimited Devotion (say, a mini playfield that can only be accessed in a certain mode)
- The "Phil Zone" with subwoofers and shakers ablaze
- The "miracle ticket" ball save
- A JJP style led "backglass" that can play video clips and the like, but otherwise shows the "lava lamp" effect that they used in early shows.
- a "pigpen" mode
- The "Ship of Fools" playfield toy
- Collect up all of the members of the band for an "Uncle John's Band" mode
- The "Let it Grow" jackpot mode
The possibilities are literally limitless.
and I like your idea of touring... you could stack up cities a bit like an Addams Family mansion tour.
I would love to see a Def Leppard pin get made. Lots of great pinball-playing songs to work with. Let's Get Rocked!
OK,children, what band did the very first rock,"video"? What band still sparks controversy? You know them, you love them, ladies and gentlemen,THE BEATLES !!!
If Stern wants to sell lots of units then they should go with Iron Maiden. Still popular and selling out stadiums world wide compared to some of these washed up bands on the Indian casino circuit that todays youth have no interest. Iron Maiden pinball would sell very well overseas as well, the possibilities with the artwork, layout, music would be amazing.
Quoted from Pinplayer1967:If Stern wants to sell lots of units then they should go with Iron Maiden.
Already in the works.

Quoted from hawkmoon:Nice video, doesen't say anything!!!
Sorry about that:
Hand of fate is moving and the finger points to you
He knocks you to your feet and so what are you gonna do
Your tongue has frozen now you've got something to say
The piper at the gates of dawn is calling you his way
You watch the world exploding every single night
Dancing in the sun a newborn in the light
Say goodbye to gravity and say goodbye to death
Hello to eternity and live for every breath
Your time will come, your time will come
Your time will come, your time will come
The ferryman wants his money you ain't going to give it back
He can push his own boat as you set up off the track
Nothing you can contemplate will ever be the same
Every second is a new spark, sets the universe aflame
You watch the world exploding every single night
Dancing in the sun a newborn in the light
Brothers and their fathers joining hands and make a chain
The shadow of the Wicker Man is rising up again
Your time will come, your time will come
Quoted from thunderking50:Your Time Will come iron , maiden is next year, this year is Motley Crue !!!!
Motley Crue would be cool, but only if Stern stuck to the first album, before they turned into a Vanhagar "party rock" band.
