    Quoted from PoMC:

Holy crap, over 1000 posts about this release? Yet, I don't care at all one way or the other. I guess I feel left out having no opinion on something I'm not even interested in buying.

    yeah, none of us are.

We were hoping for a new game and not some home edition junk rehash.
We are likely still holding out a sliver of hope that there will be a surprise...

what else new in pinball is there to talk about this week.

    #1054 4 years ago

Over/under on code being deeper than Munsters?

    #1057 4 years ago

Boo, guess I'm going the Oktoberfest route

    Quoted from scruffypinball:

They posted a YouTube update on their channel. You’re being disingenuous to seem cool. But that’s fine.

Yeah - it's an item in their channel. Which gives them a link that they can then give to the media AHEAD OF TIME for when the video is live.

    #1060 4 years ago

That was hilarious, so glad I tuned in live for that so I could get the full "uh, it's over?" experience.

    Star Wars Home trash!

    #1062 4 years ago

Costco star wars model. Awesome, why even hype that to pin people?

    #1063 4 years ago

LOL. a 30 second promo and the stream is done?

Oh no... the rumours were true... let's all hope there's a second big announcement! Why can't it be April fools today....

Holy crap, my "A piece of metal is cheaper than a spring" comment came true.

    LOL the fake music.

Here is my in depth analysis of the premiere of the new pin.

Exactly. The three day youtube countdown timer was a Pinside trolling.

    #1072 4 years ago

Nice that Stern Pinball is now trolling their customers.

    #1073 4 years ago

Why even do a reveal for that?

    #1075 4 years ago

Good grief, I have no problem with this game, but who on Earth thought it was a good idea to make the trailer a scheduled premier? You save livestreams for the really big and exciting announcements. This is the sort of thing you should just randomly drop without telling anyone, otherwise you create expectations that are guaranteed to not be met.

    #1076 4 years ago

Stern just revealed a middle finger to their base. Lol..........

    #1077 4 years ago

I’m just glad to see classic Stern back again!

The thing is, it will work, because now everyone on Pinside is going to blow up and draw tons of attention to the game and Stern in general.

    #1081 4 years ago

    Damn you Stern.

$4500 for that? Why not buy the full thing for an extra grand? This doesn't make sense.

    #1085 4 years ago

JJP and American just sold a bunch more machines to impatient people!

$1000 less and less complexity, makes total sense.

    #1087 4 years ago

I remember when a NIB Stern Star Trek Pro was around $4,800 street pricing through a distributor. I think that was only about 4 years ago. Now we are talking $4,500 for this??? Wow, things go downhill fast.

    #1088 4 years ago

    It can’t be $4500. It just can’t

    #1089 4 years ago

    Looks terrible

    #1091 4 years ago

I think Stern just gave me blue balls. All build up.

They got games at the comic con which averages 130,000 people in attendance?

This game is marketing towards new buyers.

I guessed the price right on the head. $4500 is a joke.. Stern may be attempting to market to a new type of buyer but at what cost to its loyal followers. If they release an actual game in the near future, no harm done, but if people have to wait till October for a new game. That to me is a marketing failure, not even a mistake.

    #1095 4 years ago

I hope they arent setting up for a price increase on pros. After all, Gary says they are "under priced"

Yea but it makes me feel bad for these people. They have no idea. Just makes me remember when I first got into the hobby and overpaid for my first pin. A lot of people are going to learn the hard way that this is not real full featured machine and they paid a ton of money for it.

Remember 4 years ago when street pricing on a new Stern Pro was $4,800. I remember when Star Trek Pro was around that price. Now fast forward 4 years and we have this stripped down thing at $4,500.

    #1098 4 years ago

    Whysnow

Your reality of JJP selling 3x more of a single game than Stern just came true.

Wonka will sell 3x the amount of this Stern Star Wars home pin. For sure.

    #1099 4 years ago

I figure they set the list price at $4500 so they could sell at a street price of $4K.

Like others have noted, displaying it at COMICON is aimed at a new (not Pinside) market.

    #1100 4 years ago

I have a bad feeling that this might make used pro’s more expensive. Especially Star Wars pro’s. Why would someone sell their pro for $4500-$4800 when the new PIN is $4500?
