Anybody heard anything? This is about the time for the announcement.
Rumors are a possible VE.
Stern can run both a "stern game" and whoa nelle at the same time because they will have multiple lines. Remember whoa nelle is a whiz bang game not a stern game.

Thought it was a Stern game.

Kiss, Steve Ritchie designing.
They have the license. 2014 is their 40th year of recording records.
Most likely will not be released until early 2015.

My bold predictions for the next Stern:
- Standard fan layout with two ramps and an outer orbit
- 3 or 4 drop targets on the sides, under the orbits
- Three in lanes in the upper right corner leading to a trio of jet bumpers
- Big molded plastic feature in the center
- Red DMD
- LE version will have a cannon in the apron

Will it be cheaper in that Generic Version you just described ?

TWD Prem then short run of LOTR-VE then Nellie & MMr until KISS
and JAWS could pop up in IF the contracts get signed
This all would be awesome if close to schedule as described.
The only games I'd consider buying, among those mentioned in this thread are Led Zeppelin, and maybe Jaws. I'm bored with the idea of remakes and VEs. It might be smart business, but it isn't very exciting.
Also, after I get my THLE, I'm officially done with pre-ordering.

Id be happy with that.

Interesting! And if we see LOTR VE, we could see The Simpsons Pinball Party VE down the track?
Cheers!
Adam.

I'd love to see both of those.
I will be publishing an interview with John Trudeau shortly and he confirmed to me that he's next in line after TWD. He didn't reveal anything about the theme, other than he put in several things Gary Stern had suggested and that the game may be surprising. The entire interview should be available later this week on www.pinball-magazine.com.

Comes with an extra long plunger!
Wouldn't that be an extra schlong plunger?

This sounds awful on all levels.
Crappy premium, followed by rehashed game, followed by overpriced EM wannabe, followed by another rehashed game, followed by the worst band theme to date (only thing that could save it will be a good layout from John T.).
I am really hoping for something better than KISS as the next title.

You're a ray of sunshine, eh?

Well if he's correct, people will be kicking themselves for not buying his TronLE.

I am actually thinking about buying the next new Stern to put on route. While I enjoy sharing/routing games I would like something newer so I can hopefully spent less time out there attending to things on 20 year old games.
K I S S does nothing for me on theme and since this is just an extension of the hobby for me I need to buy games I actually enjoy also.

I could not agree more. KISS is still popular on tour but they have not made relevant music in decades, well, maybe ever. Another KISS pin stinks of mustang. They thought it would sell well to non pinheads and were wrong. If they do a KISS pin they have to be thinking it will sell well to KISS collectors but they will be wrong. Most of the new blood coming into pinball is not going to be overly interested in a KISS pin.
I'll be holding out hope for a Ritchie Game of Thrones pin on the new platform with a Hi Def color display. Anything less then that is going to have a hard time getting my money. Stern better bring it because if Pat's JJP games is close to shipping this years they need to be able to counter with something awesome.
