Quoted from Kkuoppamaki:I have played all the latest Sterns, even the ones that have 4 flippers like GoT but for some reason this felt different, more amplified. Can't put my finger in it, maybe it's just me
It's not just you. I was at Sunshine last weekend. Played the game quite a bit and thought the same thing to myself. Later, was having a drink in the middle of the back room. The flippers in the iron maiden could be heard far more distinctly than anything else in that back room. I remember thinking several times that those flippers are loud. I understand it has 4 flippers, but there were people playing GOT right in front of us and it didn't have that sound. It wasn't bothersome or annoying to me, but it was clearly a louder and more distinct flipper sound.
I also keep feeling the same way on and off. It's hard to justify the price gap between the pro and the LE. However, if you want the extra gameplay features, you have to step up to the premium. Now you're $1400 away from the LE. For me, that's a lot easier to stomach. Invisiglass, coated armor, mirrored backglass, foil decals, shaker, upgraded sound, art blades. When I look at it that way, I feel pretty good about the LE. I have a KISS LE and the mirrored bg, red armor and foil cab decals really make it a fantastic machine to look at. Not many new games have a theme that catches my interest. This one does, so I'm sticking with it. The unknown art of the premium makes it even more difficult. I guess if I change my mind, I should be able to unload easy enough?
Quoted from NightMutilator:I'm almost at the point of going back to switching to the pro. I paid in-full for the LE but the more time I have to let it soak-in the honeymoon excitement is beginning to subside. Guess it's just a case on the Mondays... or a case of just not feeling like those extra action figures and motorized elements are worth this big price difference. I had both Walking Dead LE and Ghostbusters LE and I never felt that uneasy with those pre-received. Probably because they were both truly stacked with awesome features and sculpts that for sure assured me they were worth the cost (plus they weren't nearly as expensive either). With everyone talking about the problems with cabinet build quality and the fact the playfields still divot like crazy right out of the box I'm getting quite a bit nervous... I know we're all super excited, but come on Stern, let's see real world pics of this thing already. Is the metallic Foil really gonna keep my order in place?!
I've seen mention that the song selected at the beginning of each ball has nothing to do with modes. Is this true? Do the songs being played through the speakers correspond with a particular mode/goal you're playing for, or even have anything to do with the inserts of the the song names? I'll catch on eventually. Thanks for any help understanding.
Four, six, six, the number of the beast. Game arrived today. As I was walking down the driveway when the truck came, I thought to myself that it would be cool if it was #66. Well, not 66, but 466. Opened it up just to make sure that nothing was scratched or broken.
Everything looks good. Looking forward to getting it set up.
Pretty sure Roadshow uses one at the bulldozer blade and CV uses one to register direct hits to the ringmaster.
Quoted from j_m_:thanks for the pics dgoett
the red armor definitely does look a lot better in nature lighting
how many games are eddy sensors used? I know that b/w used them in AFM and MB (the phantom flip feature)
