I mentioned somewhere that this would be the biggest selling Stern game since LOTR and got paid out... Lol never seen so much hype about a game
So I got to play my friend's yesterday...first of all I think those saying its the best game ever may want to hold off That said it is certainly a great layout and good theme integration and rules. What he did to create so many shots and with the uposts is nothing short of genius. I am not sure if it beats star wars prem/le in fun factor just yet for me as far as modern games go but he sure has the potential. We will see what the premium/le adds in terms of fun factor, but this is certainly one of the better recent efforts.
A few things I noticed, it is definitely not a drain monster like most modern sterns. I think this is a combination of a lot of shots staying up at the top of the play field and a lack of dangerous shots that come flying back at the flippers with little time to react. Also this game has virtually no air balls! Its about time some designed a game that doesn't have insane airballs all over the place!
Anyhow I look forward to what the code updates bring and the added features of the PREM/LE. I think I am getting a pro for now
Quoted from chuckwurt:Oh that’s my bad then. I have lots of people on ignore and had to deduce what the hell was happening from the responders to those posts.
Sorry again.
That's funny, I remember back at the MMr release Odin and Rarehero were getting on my nerves so I put them on a short ignore and all of the MMr threads turned in to "ignored user posts" lol
Bring on Maiden, is it 10:00 yet. MNpinball is going to work us into a frenzy.
Another great thing about the pro is the lack of moving parts which makes it a great game to site! I do like the ability to trap the ball on the right flipper when it comes down from the top left flipper.
Quoted from cscmtp:Dang it all these new posts and no pictures? you guys are like the Golden Girls on here...
Quoted from mnpinball:This LE is going to put the Bat66 Super LE to shame. The bar has been raised.
There's even going to be a few surprises not on the published matrix list .
Anyone thinking DIFFERENT playfield art than the pro?
Quoted from RGR:Another great thing about the pro is the lack of moving parts which makes it a great game to site! I do like the ability to trap the ball on the right flipper when it comes down from the top left flipper.
I will say, even in home use nice to have very little to break. Also the way it traps all the balls and the drops them in for multi ball make it feel like you just locked some balls!
Quoted from RGR:Who would have thought a British and Australian (ACDC) band be so popular in the states!
Rock n roll knows no borders! Up the Irons...

I hope Robin has the bandwidth to handle this lol

Every time I see a STLE I think...man, thats a nice looking machine well worth the extra price tag. Really hope its the same this time around.
Quoted from J85M:As soon as I saw who-dey post I knew whysnow reply to him was only going to end in a thread eject
Ive actually been trying to be nicer to whysnow and not get him fired up. I wasnt trying to lure him into a thread eject or anything like that at all, but in the past i could have done that easily to him lol.
Quoted from RGR:Who would have thought a British and Australian (ACDC) band be so popular in the states!
Really? - British bands have historically been the most popular in the US: The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, etc.

Thought home grown would have been more popular

IMO there is something extra exciting/interesting about "art" from another country - when it's done well. It's different, and people tend to like accents (only the cool sounding ones though LOL).

I knew a few salesman that said selling stuff with an accent is more effective. So with like infomercials will have UK people selling stuff to people in the US... It stands out
I literally stayed up all night waiting for midnight island time, and nothing.
Pics of premium/Le for god sakes today!!!!

You lost me at Star wars....

It should come with a pair of front row tickets to their concert of your choice. If the band is getting 50 games, maybe they can afford to give away tickets to 200 LE buyers. That would be WAY better than having Adam West say your name (which still isn't coded). What's the problem Stern? Make a separate file for each callout, have code point to the file and distribute a file to each owner. BAM! - BM66SLE problem solved. But back to Maiden ... front row concert tickets as a give-away would make this LE launch one for the ages. I'd bet Zach and Jared could make this happen.

Aw man, free tickets to LE buyers would be dope!
Quoted from jeffspinballpalace:If the band is getting 50 games,
I heard they backed that number down which freed up some units. We got 2 additional over our initial allotment.
Quoted from mnpinball:There's even going to be a few surprises not on the published matrix list .
Just on the LE? Or will Premiums also have a surprise or two??
No one else even thinking that LE may have different playfield art?
There was a hint to suggest so it's a speculative guess with some rumor

I think someone mentioned in this thread that the playfields have been completed and are just waiting to be dropped into the cabs with the approved art.
Quoted from VividPsychosis:You lost me at Star wars....
fair enough I know people dont love it but I think its great!
Quoted from jeffsarcade:I think someone mentioned in this thread that the playfields have been completed and are just waiting to be dropped into the cabs with the approved art.
But, will it be different playfield art?
I think Gomez was asked this question and his answer was evasive, hence my speculation.
Quoted from RGR:What was their last release where the PF art was different?
GOT Premium.
Quoted from RGR:Hmmm this must have been pre-production then?
Those are the pro and LE. Premium playfield was different.
Was the different Premium playfield art reaction to the Pro and LE playfield art or was that Stern's plan all along?
Quoted from TheLaw:Premium was blue
Kind of like a lot of guy's balls in anticipation of the LE release.
Quoted from jeffsarcade:Was the different Premium playfield art reaction to the Pro and LE playfield art or was that Stern's plan all along?
plan all along I think. I think maybe the change from the gradient to chain mail for the LE shield was a last minute change though.
Quoted from mnpinball:This LE is going to put the Bat66 Super LE to shame. The bar has been raised.

The bar wasnt set very high on the sle imo .that was just a huge money grab.
