Where are the TOYS on the pro? There is nothing new but standard pinball Stuff.
Quoted from Tranquilize:Does the jump shot lead to a magnet or just a standup?
Three part bulls-eye target. Elwin describes its use in Aces High mode on the latest C2C podcast. Bulls-eye accuracy will determine points.
Quoted from MRG:Where are the TOYS on the pro? There is nothing new but standard pinball Stuff.
The "Toy" is the giant $6K toy you're buying... and that giant toy is packed with shit.
What would you rather have, a tie fighter on a spring, or 4 flippers w/ looping shots, 2 spinners, jump ramp to bullseye, and a layout unlike any other? Because you now have that choice.
Quoted from Tranquilize:Now.... is it worth the cash with the stern cheapness and constipated code? Anyone have a link for Keith's comments about code?
Keith said it's gonna be released with terrible code and the game is going to have numerous QC issues.
Pretty strange from a marketing standpoint but maybe I'm not looking at the big picture.
Quoted from MRG:Where are the TOYS on the pro? There is nothing new but standard pinball Stuff.
Remember when they started adding pinball shit to pinballs? Crazy
Quoted from Yoko2una:Because you now have that choice.
Hope this plays as nice as SW.
Quoted from GotAQuestion:What are Operator Bars? And what are they in comparison to that we've been getting previous?
No more pegs!
Quoted from CrazyLevi:Would anybody with more fingers than I care to count up the eddies?
Looks like around 50.
I've got a total of 30 distinct eddies (not counting the triangle inserts or the 2 sphinx near the flippers more than once) on the playfield with an additional 3 on the apron

Very odd thing for anyone to say...where did he say this?
Anyone see how what they've done with Archer's subway here? I assume it doesn't have one...
Quoted from Mr68:Sorry if I missed it. Who is doing the code?
Supposedly Elwin is at least designing the ruleset if not coding it himself
Quoted from Whysnow:awesome!
That puts it back at 14 coils which appears to be standard for PROs.
Meanwhile 'stripped down' SW has
2x flipper
3x sling
2x pop
2x drop
3x post
2x gates
1x plunger
1x trough
1x kicker
1x Tie Fighter shaker
and a screen for 19!
Quoted from Mr68:Sorry if I missed it. Who is doing the code?
Rick Naegele is the lead coder implementing Keith Elwin's own ruleset.
Quoted from jazzmaster:No more pegs!
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh support rails instead of those stupid peg things! Got it.
Quoted from GotAQuestion:Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh support rails instead of those stupid hooks!
Yep! Elwin said the support rails will be standard on all future Pro model titles going forward.

how does the screen get a coil count?

edit:
if the flaming demon holding the pitchfork is an eddy as well, than baskin robbins for the win with 31
Inserts, cabinet, and repeats count! What is the total number of Eddies on this game?!
Quoted from PinB:Yep! Elwin said the support rails will be standard on all future Pro model titles going forward.
Smart move. Those pegs sucked, and a huge justification for people complaining about cost-cutting.
Quoted from Mr68:Sorry if I missed it. Who is doing the code?
Keith designed the rules, some of the new hires are doing the production of those rules.
Quoted from TheLaw:Remember when they started adding pinball shit to pinballs? Crazy
This could be any layout made between 1980 and 1992 before the thing hand. This is 2018 where are the innovative toys and mechs. $5500 and not even a toy on a spring.
By the way, I love the look and layout. Should be fun to shoot. Not 5.5K fun though. $40 coin drop fun.
Quoted from j_m_:edit:

No that's the beast. The nemesis in the comic
Quoted from CrazyLevi:Inserts and repeats count! What is the total number of Eddies?!
39?
Quoted from MRG:This could be any layout made between 1980 and 1992 before the thing hand..
Jesus
Quoted from CrazyLevi:Is this counting cab and translite?
And inner art blades? And shooter rod?
Quoted from TKDalumni:And inner art blades? And shooter rod?
I think we might be eclipsing 60 Eddies.
How does the ball feed the upper left flipper? It looks like only rejected shots to that lane/ramp, or on the fly ricochet?
It also looks like holding it open increases the size of the lane behind it, like TZ.
I know this was all part of Archer, but I only played Archer briefly at PAGG a few years ago.

THere's a post that can feed an orbit shot or shot from the right upper flipper to the top flipper.
Quoted from Who-Dey:When is the last time Pinside blew up over a game reveal like this? This game is a HUGE hit so far!
pinside blows up anytime any game is revealed. weather its a positive or negative blow up is the only difference.
Quoted from Who-Dey:When is the last time Pinside blew up over a game reveal like this? This game is a HUGE hit so far!
Uhhh, just about every reveal, lol.
Quoted from brucipher:Uhhh, just about every reveal, lol.
I think what Who-Dey is trying to say is that pretty much everyone says it's a hit and I would say less than 25% of Stern's reveals are this unanimous.
So that "Pharaoh Bullseye Target" at the back is not actually a magnet, correct? It just hits it and bounces off? After first seeing it I thought it was a magnet, but the matrix does not describe it that way.
Quoted from kst8cat:So that "Pharaoh Bullseye Target" at the back is not actually a magnet, correct? It just hits it and bounces off? After first seeing it I thought it was a magnet, but the matrix does not describe it that way.
Just a target. Can detect shots to the various rings to determine value of the hit.
Quoted from j_m_:ok, this is the only thing that's not making any sense to me
why have an eddie in a straightjacket stand-up plastic on the pop bumper directly above playfield art featuring eddie in a straightjacket?!?
wait until you see the LE is my guess...
Quoted from kst8cat:So that "Pharaoh Bullseye Target" at the back is not actually a magnet, correct? It just hits it and bounces off? After first seeing it I thought it was a magnet, but the matrix does not describe it that way.
I thought it went threw it? I hope it just dont bounce off...
Quoted from bigd1979:I thought it went threw it? I hope it just dont bounce off...
It doesn't, it's a multi target, radiating out from the center, and you score differently depending on how close to the center you get. Was like this on Archer too. Was a cool idea then, it's a cool idea now, there no need for it to go through, that doesn't make any sense with the concept.
Quoted from Psw757:So this will be out before JJP Potc and looks to be a winner as far as new layout.
Think this has any negative impact on POTC sales since that seems to be running a little behind schedule?
If they build a good game for a price the market will bare then they will sell. Of course there is only so much money to be had in the hobby, and the crap will sell like crap (e.g. see several recent games that did not sell as well as they could despite popular themes).
Quoted from bigd1979:I thought it went threw it? I hope it just dont bounce off...
Reading the Matix, looks like the ball will go through it...
Edit** on the Premium/LE
cool that he kept the target red/blue color, flipping blue/red lighting animates it a bit, probably like a heartbeat.
I'm glad they stuck with the Archer layout for the most part. I'm looking forward to seeing the LE/Prem and the gameplay.

Cool... i thought it was a magnet like lotr....
"Industry First Hit Detecting Newton Ball" was originally prototyped with a ballpoint pen spring and a paperclip! aka spring-switch.
Quoted from Stones:Reading the Matix, looks like the ball will go through it...
"Three segment pharaoh bullseye target"
Am I missing another location? You can see it in action in the Archer video.
Quoted from Stones:Reading the Matix, looks like the ball will go through it...
Hmmm. Guess will see soon with the stream..
