No, that would be stupid, but, reporting the fact is pretty stupid IMO. It's all about image, why report on your second game when people are already bitching about the delays with your first one. Under promise and over deliver...that's WAY better than the opposite...which it feels like they are doing now.

Exactly, parallel development isn't uncommon, actually, it's quite common. But the smart businessman doesn't show his cards before he actually has a play. Any talking about a second game, other than reiterating that they are in it for the long run, is counter-productive to the first release. I really hope it outperforms expectations, if not, it will make the second that much harder.
This exact scenario happened with Windows Phone recently, now people are pissed off because they think they were beta testers for the second release when in fact that is not true.
