Much better
both the teal jet bumper covers and skirts look like they were originally meant to be on that playfield against the artwork
Yeah. I wasn't sure. I saw so many people suggesting it, and figured what the heck. And even though they get buried under ten pounds of ramps, I think it's perfect!

Thanks!
......Hey, Greg...the Creature has some fantastic art on it. I never really looked at all the parts before. Wow!
Ted...very true. You don't really appreciate the artwork on a playfield until you see it totally bare. Some playfields (CV actually is a notorious one) have hidden artwork you can't even see with the playfield populated. It's been a while since I shopped one, but it had little things like "thanks for cleaning here" tucked in!

I would need eye drops looking at those pictures all day also.
Well, it's all coming together. Mixed feelings....on one hand it's good that I'm getting really close to getting it back together...but always a little sad to see a project coming to the tail end.
Rebuilt both flippers...and it was nice, my daughter helped me do one. Really a nice experience!

I did that with mine. Never again, lesson learned. Nice resto going Gecko, looks great!

Yep. BEST ADVICE EVER!
The last time I did bulbs on a Creature ramp I learned that the hard way!
Playfield back home! Cabinet got a nice vacuuming out.
So next on my agenda....connect everything and start to go through switches and solenoids. Now is the best time before I bury the topside of the playfield with the ramps.
Swapped in LEDs on the backbox...man I forgot how many there are. I think this is second only to fish tales which, IIRC, had over 50 bulbs in it!
2014-05-26 15.14.04.jpg 2014-05-26 15.19.39.jpgSo I plugged everything in and went through testing. Then I remembered I lit the pop bumpers, but didn't see any life from them. Scratched my head for a bit. Finally smacked my forehead when I remembered that I tied them to the pop bumpers, not the GI.
Poked the pops, and yay, they were alive!
Unfortunately the blue 4+1 HP LEDs I put in just weren't going to do. They were so bright and the blue just overpowered everything.
2014-05-26 17.49.56.jpgAnd that's a wrap for tonight.
Put in the second ramp. Made every bulb work. Apron back on. Switches tested and repaired.
Feels really good to know I'm on the edge of being able to play...
Not sure how this week is going to pan out, but for now I need to prep the final ramp and then I need to install the LCD mod...stoked for that!

It's going to sit untouched tonight unfortunately, but so be it...got home from work late, no time for lunch..I just want to eat and sleep
Quoted from NJGecko:Just a placeholder...TZ is 98% done, so it's time for the next one in line...
Picked up this CFTBL a few months back, my second one.
Playfield is good, but this game is screaming for love. Never seen this, but almost every plastic is broken!
Hologram is totally black.
That said, I have already picked up the important bits:
Full new set of ramps
New set of plastics
One of the last of PinballMikeD's LCD hologram replacements
So this will find its way into the rotisserie shortly!
Looks like you need a new or restored playfield. I have some new ones and can restore your old one also. If you bought a new one I would like your core. I also have cabinet decal sets, new ramps etc. that I need to sell.
Thanks Chad. I'm good with what I have for now...this is destined to be a player quality machine. If I do need anything I will let you know though...you never know, I may go nuts on it again!

You are doing all that tear down to make it a player quality machine? Wow!
And got everything on the topside back in. This weekend hopefully I will get the LCD installed, but I'm pretty much ready to fire up a game now! I do want to spend some time doing last minute cleanup of stuff, but it's really looking sharp!
I did orange LEDs in the PAID lanes and it actually gives the entire backside of the game a really nice orange glow. Green LEDs in the ramps and bowl.
Really really looks nice all around!

Picked this up a while ago. I think I actually got the monitor on a holiday sale from new years...
Last night set it up and installed everything. Little weird having to watch instructional videos, but it actually worked out.
Everything installed exactly as described. Mounting lined up, cables were where they should be..all good!
Working with Mike on a technical issue now which is likely related to me being an idiot, but we will see.
So once it gets resolved it's onto testing the game!
