We started in 2012 with our first generation Playfield Protectors, which maybe some of you already know from ebay or other online shops.

In the meantime we developed playfield protectors for more than 200 pinball machines, plastic protectors for more than 100 pinball machines, clear plastic sets for more than 60 pinball machines and a lot of other useful stuff.

Now it is time to move one step forward. We set up our own online shop introducing the Next Generation Playfield Protectors.

The Next Generation Playfield Protector is now made of Vivak (PET-G) instead of macrolon, which allows us to reduce thickness (50 % reduction of thickness – now only 0.5mm / 0.02‘‘) and improve the edges by using CNC lasers instead of CNC molding cutters. The new surface is now even more transparent with still being glossy. We ship flat packaged to avoid "rolling effects".

Our playfield protectors are precut protectors, which fit individually to each pinball machine type.

Depending on the particular pinball machine, a protector can be installed within a few hours including cleaning, which should be done in parallel. The playfield needs to be partially stripped down, so that the protector can be easily placed on the playfield.

Please check out our new online shop to learn more about our products and subscribe to our newsletter to get a 10% discount code for your next order.

I have one on our whirlwind and one (corrected version) for a Paragon and they both are excellent products.

    Highly recommended!

This is great, I love the new website. I have some of the first generation protectors and they work well, looking forward to trying out the new product.

One request, could you please make one for Haunted House? Thanks.

    #4 7 years ago

My request would be more pics on the site.

    #5 7 years ago

They look great, and i have been thinking about buying them for my games.
For games with some wear, but you can`t fork out the expenses for a new playfield or restoration, this looks like the best solution.

Will you be making one for pharaoh?

Does the new material react less to heat from the bulbs?

Many thanks for your feedback. In 2013 Martin did a nice write up regarding our Playfield Protectors. This applies also to our Next Generation Playfield Protectors... http://www.pinballnews.com/learn/playfieldprotector/index.html

We will come up with a gallery and we will come up with more protectors. Again (sorry ) - please subscribe to our newsletter to get the latest information about new products, website updates or promotions. If you don't want it anymore - unsubscribing is very easy.

If you have any issues with a protector, please contact [email protected]. All feedback, information or issues are warmly welcome. Regarding reaction to heat... we hadn't an issues reported yet neither with macrolon nor vivak... so please contact our support.

If these are so great why does every pinball in a collection not have one and why is Stern not putting them on at the factory. No more PF wear seems like a no brainier...

And how would a pinball machine that lasts forever be good for Sterns business?

If there was enough interest/demand, I'm sure stern would make them themselves, and sell them for as much as possible.

I like the fact you ship them flat. I bought one from BAA once - it was rolled and permanently deformed.

Make one for Royal Flush, Super Soccer, and Jet Spin! Take my money before Hillary does!

Will these playfield protectors be on display/available at Pinball Expo this year? In other words, will you have a booth?

    Quoted from sudsy7:

I like the fact you ship them flat. I bought one from BAA once - it was rolled and permanently deformed.

I had the same issue with my F14 protector. Still fighting it a year later to try to keep the edges down. They should always be shipped flat.

    Quoted from tacshose:

Some people do not like them because it changes the way the game "feels". The metal ball on wood has a "feel" and sound to it that isn't there with the the PF protector. Also, it is a pain to clean and wax - yes I wax the plastic to keep it looking good. Dirt will get under the protector over time, so if your are meticulous about your pin, this could drive you crazy. Some people think the PF slows down the ball. With waxing it, I (and my wife & kids) think it actually speeds up the play. It does help with PF wear if the pin is onsite at a arcade, but some people think that if you just keep your PF waxed for HUO a PF protector is not necessary. All that being said, my F14 PF was showing wear, so I put a protector on it to preserve what was left. If it wasn't for the edges always curling up, I would love it. See the 13:45 mark of my video link below for my original battle with the old style protector. I advise NOT to get the old style shipped rolled up. I have not see the new style on a pin yet.

Note that JJP offers a PF protector to be installed as an option for NIB pins. It is just not too popular for HUO pins.

    Just my opinions ...

One suggestion for your website. On the pages, maybe give an option to skip to a specific letter. Like say I want Pinbot, I could click P and get all the P games. Rather that trying to guess what page it is one. Product looks great.

We will come up with a gallery and we will come up with more protectors. Again (sorry ) -

Well specifically I am interested in the Space station one and I notice on your banner you have at least one picture of it... any can I can see a picture of that?

I am interested in peoples opinion of this. I am on the fence between this and just clearing it. I know someone local that can do it for me, but with my playfield being in above average, this may also do really well. I am going to replace the inserts anyways as I will lose the decals replacing the mylar and they are faded/crappy anyways. But any advice would be greatly appreciated between the 2. Obviously clearing for me will be $500-$600 and this will be $200

I am interested in peoples opinion of this.

Here are a couple threads to read. After your research, you will conclude that, like most things in pinball, there is no correct answer - some like, some don't, and everyone has an opinion. You really won't know until you try it yourself.

Well yes - but plase don't tell them
Actually we supply the protectors JJP offers as an optional feature... "preinstalled custom playfield protector".

    Quoted from xfassa:

Will these playfield protectors be on display/available at Pinball Expo this year? In other words, will you have a booth?

Sorry - not this year but who knows what the future will bring....

    Quoted from KingBW:

I had the same issue with my F14 protector. Still fighting it a year later to try to keep the edges down. They should always be shipped flat.

We are sorry - your protector was obviously rolled for packaging in the wrong direction. If you ever think about replacing it, you will get a very special deal.

Within the next days a search option will be available on our website.

I'll take you up on that if its a good deal ... what's the deal? Tired of fighting the corner curl ups. Elmer's glue does not keep it down ... don't want to try anything stronger and mark/destroy the play field on removal for cleaning.

We added a search feature to our website since some names are a bit different than nearly anyone would assume... i.e. Wrestlemania (LE) is officially "Legends of Wrestlemania (Limited Edition)". So we also tweaked some names...

Here's a list of our current portfolio of playfield protectors... don't forget to subscribe to our newsletter to get the news about the latest releases.

How long does it take you guys to get them done and what do you have plans to do?

I would like one for my space station and millionaire, but i notice you don't have millionaire up yet . If you have no plans to do it or it will be a long time, ok, but just curious if i should wait to order both at the same time.

Let me give you an idea - I have asked for a Royal Flush protector for 3 years and have been told it would be done each year (but it still has not been done). They focus on the latest Stern releases, which I can understand because they will generate more interest than an oldie. My advice would be to order one for your Space Station while you're still young.

Well - we have several protectors in our pipeline. This is mostly dependend on how we can get access to the pinball machines or playfields.
We are trying to get protectors for the recent Sterns available as quickly as possible, but we also go for EMs and all other SS which are not covered yet. We love all kinds of pinball machines and will absolutely not forget about all the beautiful machines

I advise changing the shipping cardboard to something stiffer. I received my new one for my F14 and the one piece that comes off the side got bent/kinked a bit. I have it sandwiched under some books to flatten it back out again. The flat packaging was bent a bit. So if you use stiffer packaging, it might hold up better.

As their are some protectors for EMs now available, any plans for a protector for a Bally Fireball (EM)?

    #30 7 years ago

So... looking at that Genie protector, and some of the EM protectors, how are they actually held down? It seems like they go around every post?
