I was in a similar situation. Was looking at next pin to buy. Sought advice that was helpful and I think the key was finding the different games and playing them. This was the best thing for me to do. Ended up with MET pro.

I was in similar situation and had same concern. Have two boys 11 and 8. Had them play some MET at local arcade and had no issues with sparky and the sparky multiball eyes popping out on the screen. I was debating on whcih pin to buy and ended up buying MET after the boys played it and weren't bothered by it. Was a concern for me for sure.
