Quoted from unigroove:Congrats to Keith Elwin and his team for what looks to be a rather refreshing and innovating game!
Interestingly, IGN - who I recall often just publishing Stern's standard press release - is surprisingly critical on this game and raising some valid questions.
The trailer doesn't show any footage from the movie, which made me wonder: if RawThrills would be doing a Jurassic Park-themed Arcade video game without any scenes from the movie, just shooting dinosaurs, are people complaining about the lack of movie footage? Or is that typical for the pinball community?
Hi, I'm the author of this piece, and every other pinball news story in recent times on IGN. We never publish just a press release for Stern stuff. We always write an original news story with a hot take or two Usually we get an interview to pair it with, which is nice (check out the Black Knight announcement I did).
Speaking of interviews, I just updated this piece with some news about call-outs and use of movie clips:

Quoted from JodyG:It's part of that "lifestyle brand" crap they are trying to pull off. Tapping into markets outside the traditional pinhead crowd.

Quoted from TheCoinSlotTC:Maybe writer gets a sweet deal. From the bottom on the article.
"Samuel Claiborn is IGN's Managing Editor and both fixes and breaks pinball machines in his garage. TCELES B HSUP to follow him @Samuel_IGN on Twitter."
Lemme explain:
Entertainment journalists are just that, we write news about entertainment (e.g. video games, comics, pinball) — based on things like interviews, investigations, and press releases (the least fun!).
Stern has nothing to do with IGN covering pinball. I do. I operate pins at Free Gold Watch in San Francisco for fun, and I’m an editor at IGN for my real job. I love pinball! I have to bug Stern for coverage just like Disney, or EA.
IGN is the biggest game/geek entertainment platform in the world. My goal is to use it to bring pinball to more people. I do pinball articles on my own time because they definitely don’t get enough traffic to make them worthwhile on the company’s time. Even better, I’m the Managing Editor so I can manage my own time!
No other mainstream entertainment outlets go after pinball stories. That’s good for me! I can score exclusives. Which I go after vigorously.
Journalism!
Yeah those JP photos went out to everyone.
Quoted from flynnibus:So you're saying IGN wasn't a launch partner of Stern for recent games and it's all happy coincidence IGN has the exclusive photos and launch timing?
Remember.. we're not talking about origin story of how you two came together - but the content.
