My understanding is that the original Smaug design had a physical 2 ball lock and Smaug would breath/spit them out on Smaug multiball start but it was rejected by the licensor and had to be converted to virtual locks. I think Smaug was designed to 'talk' from the start.

I was hoping if stern did a trex it would eat the pinball. It may, we'll see soon.

Basically one dude started yelling that if a pinball machine is to be made it must use a shit ton of movie audio assets like call outs and music or it it doomed to fail. Then he started throwing punches around about speaking American and that books suck...

I would expect mods to provide a more 'detailed' jeep anyway - perhaps the same with the TREX.

Stern has struggled with LCD animations - JJP certainly has much more premium and polished LCD animations. But Stern fans are typically not so interested in that if the game play is fantastic (and I don't disagree)

I agree. It looks like a solid pin, and the sales should be there. BUT, there are some other games planned for the fall - maybe the most in a 6 month window in the last 20 years. That has got to slow down the JP sells a bit.

But no doubt this pin looked better than I expected - and I already had a high bar.
