    News from ColorDMD

    AFM SECOND WAVE...
OH NO!  HERE THEY COME AGAIN!

We just wanted to send a quick note that we expect to begin final assembly on our second production run for Attack from Mars later this week.  Once final parts arrive, we'll begin final assembly and should have stock back on our site and with distributors some time during the next week or two.

The response to the first run was incredible and took us by surprise.  We've been working hard to get this second run out quickly for those we missed the first time around.  Unfortunately, this has created a slight delay in our original schedule for Medieval, and we're now targeting a summer release.

A yet to be announced (worst secret ever!) third game is also in progress and will follow a bit later this year.

As always, thanks for your patience as we build up our product offering, and for the continued interest in ColorDMD!

    What's the third release, TAF?

    #3 11 years ago

Please let it be a MB release!!

    #4 11 years ago

Are they doing TZ, or was it ever hinted at?

    #5 11 years ago

I have heard TAF as the third release

    #6 11 years ago

I think they should do the Shadow next, and complete the Brian Eddy collection.

    Agree.

MB would be awesome in color - they have to do this one.

Not sure if they would do a Stern game but "worst secret ever" sounds like a comic book guy quote, So maybe TSPP?

I'm volunteering to be a tester for STTNG when you guys get to it, hopefully sometime before TPF next year so I can take it.

    AFM... MM... TAF

I hope they hurry up. I would love to have this in my MM and TAF by September for the MadRollinpinBalls tournament.

In the sneak preview before AFM came out they showed TAF, WH20, and TSPP that I remember in the medley of color DMD ideas. Did anyone that saw that trailer see any SS or MB on it? I don't remember...

Its been nearly a year since that initial trailer so that could have changed vastly.

I hope you're right... But I don't expect them to get into any new games for a while. I could definitely see them doing TAF then MB.

as long as they do the CftBL, I'll be happy. I'd love to see everything "colorized" except for the film clips (which should be done in b/w like the movie was

I agree strongly with this as well.

Not only are the animations great on MB, but as a player, you get to see them more than most pins, so you'd actually get more enjoyment out of the upgrade than with other pins.

i have a test TSPP i would be willing to try out a colorDMD on!

    #16 11 years ago

I want my Fish Tales in Color!!!
TAF makes total sense for 3rds.

    Scared Stiff...of course!

Have a friend that was a beta tester for MM. I thought the same thing for Stern machines, but he told me that only Bally/Williams were being done.

ColorDMD needs to react and be smart on the next title. Hope they are reading this.

I can see why they picked MM and AFM. Those are expensive titles and they were not sure people would shell out money for thier product. Picking people who own those with the assumption they have expensive games and will put out for this cool upgrade.

Now after its out we love this product and will by it for a $2000 title.

Go for a more popular title, I do not mean popular in ratings but a title a lot of people have.

I have heard the plan (subject to changing, of course), is after MM will be TAF, then TZ.
The conversion software will be open for others to do conversion of the titles of their choosing opening the door to many more titles as things progress.

Personally, I like the color DMD more than the idea of a big LCD panel. It IS an enhancement but it ISNT a bigger distraction from pinball.

If anyone in game development is reading this, why not do a DMD sized LCD just like the color DMD for upcoming games. You can incorporate video captures, camera quality sequences or traditional DMD style dots. It keeps the connection to traditional pinball, is way more flexible and wont be a lot more distracting.

    Anyone here agree???

Not in development, but I like this idea. Could allow for much more customization and coolness, imo.

They need to go to a Casino and see the new slots. Not the Full on Graphical 500 pay line ones but the traditional 3 wheeled ones they converted to LCD. The feel like the olds ones with some animations. Very nice transition from mechanical to digital. I approve and I am hard core old school.

TAF woud be nice, but I think MB would be the best.

You should look into a red DMD cover for your SS. I have a red DMD cover on my SS and I don't think I'd put a colored DMD on that game. The red suits the game perfectly. Of course, if a color dmd comes out and kicks ass, I'd be all over it. Here's the link for the red cover.
