My impression is that most newer (and also many old) machines are tied to large franchises such as movies or rock bands (e.g. the Hobbit, Ac/DC etc), whereas quite a few older ones are not (e.g. Theatre of Magic, Centaur etc.). So what are the newer machines (say less than 10 years old) that don't have any attachment to a franchise? Big Juicy Melons is the only newer one I can think of that actually works.

TNA, DI, Mafia

Edit: AMH, and Magic girl (not sure I’d count this as a real pin though)

Heighways’ Full Throttle

Lexi lightspeed
Houdini technically

Technically; the first two CGC games weren't tied to a specific theme... being they were original themes at Williams.
However, because they had to be licensed from Williams... I don't believe they qualify in the "spirt" of the OPs ask.

I love the cartoonish art on Mafia! Is it any good?

Sharkey's Shootout also looks nice to me (though technically older than what I asked )

I think Sharkey's Shootout uses a real person's likeness in the same way Roadshow does. But I wouldn't count it anyway as it's (a) basically a juiced-up 8-Ball Deluxe with a ramp, and (b) really shite.

Neither one of these comments make any sense at all. Eight ball deluxe was not licensed. Personal opinion on any given game has nothing to do with the OPs question.

It’s like me saying:
I wouldn’t pay any attention to these comments because (a) this person is not paying attention to the question, and (b) they have only been a member for 5 years.

A is some random fact.
B is some random fact that has nothing to do with the question.

The game's player character is licensed, I initially said. Though I could be wrong about that. The rest was being a bit facetious.

Jeanette Lee's likeness was licensed for the backglass. She's a very talented professional pool player and was the number one female player for most of the 90s.

To date, any of the games for the Multimorphic P3 fit the bill - Lexy Lightspeed, Cannon Lagoon, ROCs, the newly revealed Cosmic Cart Racing.
