Data East, 1990Hello all! Newbie here! I just bought a new custom shooter rod and I was wondering how do I take everything apart and put back together correctly. It looks simple enough but I would rather be safe than sorry. I have a DE Simpsons. Thanks!
Pull the rubber tip off the old shooter rod.
Pry off the eclip on the rod, making sure the spring doesnt shoot off into oblivion.
Pull the old rod out, put the new rod in, making sure all the washers and the spring go back on.
Squisht the spring and replace the eclip.
Replace rubber tip.
Enjoy

Look under the Documentation header and download the PDF--then look for the diagram of the assembly and the associated parts to make sure you get the assembly sequence correct.
While you're at it: good idea to replace the spring and shooter sleeve--part numbers are found on the same page.
