Hey just wanted to thank all the posters and the @pinsiders community. I am a stone cold newbie owner of my first machine, Jurassic Park by Data East. Worked great first 4 days, then when we turned it yesterday (Day 5) but the display was stuck saying "DISPLAY VERSION JURASSIC A5.01 6/24/1993" and wouldn't change. I was stumped, but in a bit of a panic quickly found pinside with an internet search, plus some YouTube videos and then spent most of today first watching, then reading, and then reviewing all the posts here while familiarizing myself with the machine.

I spent a bunch of time reading posts about CPU won't boot up, but based on what I saw there it seemed my machine was working fine other than the display (all sounds, etc but again I am super new so wasn't so sure). All balls would play, etc but just no change in the display. I then switched to "DMD doesn't work" posts. Eventually I decided the problem must be no communication between the CPU and the DMD and voila! All I needed to do was reseat the connector.

Anyway, just wanted to thank all you posters - your info to others with issues is super helpful and appreciated.

I presume as my kids and I wear this machine out, I will be back here often looking for background and advice.

So THANK YOU veterans from this super newbie, and yes I upped my voluntary contribution to the site, too.

Big thanks!

If you feel like "updating" your game, there is "new" code for the game that improves alot of the rules and scoring on the game as well as taking care of some bugs. You can order updated roms and swap them out if you feel comfortable:
