That doesn't sound like a 'sound glitch', but a bad, or stuck switch.

Try to describe what happens when it 'awards points', or what the 'sound' sounds like.

Unlikely a board issue - you have a bad opto. Go into switch test, and check the two spiral optos. One of them is failing. (Loose solder joint, dirty/blocked, old and weak sender..) You likely have other issues as well (gumball machine disabled, or flagged as bad?), buT focus on this first..
